Imo you want a few of those long spears, those buds are so beautiful and heavy.

I've considered trying to go smaller than 30gal but wasn't sure it was enough mass to buffer ph and support all the biologicals etc.

Update on my Mountain Gold Seed reproduction. Just trying to get a few seeds for next year and some smoke.

There were 12 seeds in the pack. I dropped one.
Popped 11 on 4/20 and got 3 males and 8 females.

I chose my best 3 females, topped and planted them in a 20gal. (2 purple - 1 green phenos)

The 3 males are also 2 purple and 1 green phenos.
I topped them. I also picked the first round of nanners off the males after they recovered.
I've been collecting a little of the 2nd round as a back up and now the 3 males are about ready to be moved away from the gals soon.

I think you made the right call on the 30gal. These girls put out a lot of growth for such a short season and I have to add nitrogen to keep them green in the 20gal. I’ve been watering in worm castings and soy aminos and some friends use blood meal until they finish stretching (early august) with good results. I think nitrogen gets washed out of pots fairly easy with the big summer rain storms we get at 42 and sometime I cover the top of the soil with plastic when it really pours. Just my personal thoughts and experiences so take it with a grain of salt.

In my notes Vermontman mentioned July 7th ... for my latitude (42N°) as being around the last time to do any topping on GMG.
Wondering if you would recommend tipping all the ends again at this point?
Or does it look good?

I want to run this question again because we're coming up on the day in question.

I'm at 77 days with my 30gal container backporch Green Mountain Grape

Discretion being important I've been using lst and some supercropping to change/ break up the familiar pattern and to control size.

I've been successful the last 2 seasons with this method using indicas and hybrids. Not sure if it's appropriate for sativas?
It's been over 40 years since I've grown such genetics.
I'm looking to harvest a pound per plant.

All the main branches have been bent over and all the secondary branches have been stretching for apical dominance.

You can see they're all about 10 inches.
Everything looks good to me.
There are 18-22 budsites at the moment.

Looking for any thoughts or advice. Would you come back and fim all the ends of these 1 more time?
Not sure if the bud structure is conducive to this?
Has anyone tried it and wished they hadn't?

I love the Blood meal! It give immediate 16% nitrogen and other nutrients without burn and gets consumed quickly enough to not effect flowering by adding to much Chlorophyll that causes leafy buds.

Sadly i had poor germination rate on Purple Satellite because of heatwave but 5/10 made it... I will be vegging them until the end of august alongside Malawi Killer x PCK to let both flower indoor in september.

I like using it initially as a supplement when I repot new plants and as a top dressing as pots get a bit towards pot bound to be able to delay repotting a bit, and help avoid to early flowering.
It does have a bit of an odor so I imagine a tea might get pretty rank, and it works so quickly I think you can avoid the hassle of foliar spray.

Thank you very much for your consideration. Like most older model cars, there comes time for repairs. Looks like I had a clogged fuel injector and next week or so I'm getting a valve job! HAHA But still raring to go!!
