dickcorn showed his harvest pics on Private Breeders page of afterthought autos. 20Gauge. If I'm not mistaken, he uses 1000w

Any chance of a link, airbud? I can't seem to find them! I did check out afterthought though and it seems you guys have got a good thing going on!

Greeeen, that's sound thanks.

They sound intriguing, I might have to check those out, is this your first grow using them? If not have you noticed any benefit with them?

i have three that are up around 2" but the other seeds are either popping then when i plant them they die or there not popping at all. they are from some random company so what can i expect. the three that are up i wish they would grow faster lol. 7 weeks left so they say but i know thats not to accurate
You never know they might surprise you!

You can purchase on Seedbay.

This particular post (Auto AK Grow) is for GreeeeN GRasssss.

i always use shoe laces to Low Stress Train my plants, they never eat into anything they come into contact with. cheap easy solution.

Excellent solution GreeeeN!! I have assorted string (nylon, cotton) etc. Shoelaces....they are frayed by the time I replace! Ha! Fantastic SUGGESTION!!!

I've not used air pots, however going to try DIY with those trays you get to soak mini jiffy pots and invert them to see the difference. Always looking at side-by-side comparisons.

Having worked in commercial greenhouse for a few years, debating to buy the biz from one of our seed partners (didn't purchase...too many EPA restrictions/rules), we're pretty much old school reusing 5-7 gallon nursery buckets. I use 2.5 gallon containers as well.

Looking forward to reading about your progress, GreeeeN. If you have further questions, feel free to chime in.

GROW ON!!:dance013:

i have used other air pots, no i dont see much difference to be honest. i normally use small normal pots before transplanting into air pots and in the small normal pot the root mass is just solid big thick roots, when i chop the plant down there is more fine roots with the air pot so im on the fence to but there not expensive either, i dont need to many of them. so any little benefit im a sucker in the grow shop cant help myself.

this will be my first grow with these new pots there ment to be much better. ill let you know.. i can see nice fat roots peaking out thru the sides and alot of roots coming out the bottom.

ye airidbud shoe laces and weights that you use from the gym. really easy way to LST. i can get the stems at 180 degrees if i want it like that.

so aridbud after a week what size should the autos be. in general my set up is always slow at vegging with the 200 watt CFL. these are in under the 600 watt. putting them straight into 7L pot will they primarily working on root growth?

Indeed, first several weeks, root system is forming which will be the foundation of the development above the medium. You'll start seeing major changes at about 3 weeks.

the side by side you seen Aridbud was it solid pots against air pots ? what is your thoughts on them both?

if you had the materials the airpots are pretty easy to make. its cheaper here to buy them

the last round of seeds that popped i put into 4" pots and they dont look like there going to make it.

i usually have a high success rate germinating seeds i never use clones so im always popping seeds. i got all the utensils to start cloning the other plants i have, get them going soon to.

so my autos have stalled a few weeks in now and they dont even have there second set of leaves yet. i think its due to been in the big pots? next ones i will be doing what i usually do starting of in small pots and building them up to the 7L :(

Isn't 7 liter about the same as 2 gallon? That shouldn't be the problem of 'stalling' for a few weeks. There has to be another reason.

Check your grow medium.....and gently see if roots are continuing to spread....if they look healthy.

Autos, given the right environment continue growing and explode with growth around the 4-5th week onward through harvest.

checked the roots and there barely is any roots. its nearly 4 weeks now and im sure they should have alot more roots then they have.

im thinking of just re-starting and use the 10 seeds i got as replacement? and ideas on this or should i persist and see what happens.

i dont know if its me but i never had so much trouble popping seeds or getting seedlings to grow,

ye i just started the other ones cant wait around to see if the others will grow. cut my losses start again.

i don't think it was over watering issues. i was been careful of that in the bigger pots.

I've read of issues growing in coco coir...those that can do it successfully....BRAVO for them!! Others....it's problematic.

That's why I stick with organic soil. Tried and true, tweaking soil amendments each grow, but results are predictable.

Hoping this next batch (I don't think it's the seeds, but could be...) proves a grandioso ganja garden! GROW ON, GreeeeeeeeeeeeN!:tiphat:

thanks aridbud, id love to be able to repay you for your help,

i have been growing in coco for nearly 3 years and i have never grown in soil before, ye id say it was my fault it usually is when dealing with seedlings (Human Error). the low germination rate i do think that was a seed problem. i usually use small pots build up from there, having another look at roots close to the bottom stem it does appear to be alot more damp then i thought, this could be due to it been watered two days ago or over watering.

when these seeds pop ill be sticking to my usual routine, that is my biggest issue growing every grow i try new things rather then constantly sticking to the same methods.

Not knowing the strains you're germinating, it could be the seed line. Over the years, I've spent hard earned money on stock that were duds (probably improperly stored or old seed stock) and it's a pisser when you do not get a low or NO germination rate or the seedlings are weak, through no fault of your own, dying after germing. It's disheartening.

Having experience growing in the medium, as you mentioned, (coco) it sounds like you'll make the necessary adjustments to have a fruitful harvest. Fingers crossed for a more vibrant grow.

Too, I've noticed moon cycles....I produce better everything when the moon is coming on full (waxing). It's kind of like..."don't mess with Mother Nature!!" ;o)

Exactly why some basic research into what you are buying is needed. Find out the breeders home forum and see if you can find out when the next seed drops are coming or when the last one did.
