A friend of mine was near the Canadian border and detained. He had $60k on him and had to explain how he got it. He got 6 months in jail for lying on how he got it and that was his only crime. Oh yeah, he lost the money too.

They take any money that you can't account for.

Even if you can it takes months to get it back.

Forget about illegal searches, what about illegal seizures?!

I used to drive in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. I've been through these kind of checkpoints. While I enjoyed this video, unless things have changed drastically in the last 10 years, I just told them I was a citizen and they waved me on. Took a couple of minutes tops. I don't consider that licking their boots. They do actually bust a ton of illegals at these checkpoints.

When we're really living in a police state, you won't even see videos like that. They'll just take the camera away, break it, and use physical force (probably quite a bit). Just saying.

It is funny to watch these people short circuit when forced out of their script. Almost like those robots in Star Trek. They need some flashing necklaces . . .

I have a close friend who is a BPA in Arizona. He would tell you how stupid these checkpoints are.
This is some of what he told me.
Although you see drivers citing "probable cause" in the video , the Border patrol doesnt need probable cause in these situations.
They are limited to Federal law but they can enforce ALL federal law, not just immigration.
They cannot enforce traffic laws or write tickets or even arrest you for a DUI.
They cant arrest you for showing them contempt. They cant arrest you for refusing to answer their questions. However , refusing to answer questions opens you up to further scrutiny and "reasonable suspicion".
You do however need to keep an eye out for local or state police who may be posted alongside or outside the checkpoint. They are the ones who will fuck with you after the BP stop.
