problem is, they are robbing you and you catch them, they move towards you and you blast them,, your a grower that has just killed a guy..

it must be easy to happen in that situation, no matter how prepared you are what you do when it comes down to it is a different thing..

bastards usually always get people when they are out as well,,, if you can fence off multiple awkward areas around it really well then it could easily inconvenience them enough and stick geese or llamas in there that will kick their arses,, but of course that way you also have to spend hundreds on fencing material and go around and smack it in taking days not to mention the new geese/llama rearing lifestyle, could be fun..

I don't think killing somebody over pot plants is the answer. However, after seeing these guys on camera, let me tell you I would not doubt they are prepared for the worst. So, should I ignore this and let my family be possibly killed themselves in fairness to these theifs? Please show me your logic on this one?
You miss the point entirely. I wouldn't be killing somebody over my plants. I would be defending myself from intruders on my property. I wouldn't just shoot somebody in the back, but I would defend myself if they came at me. Once again, that is your God given right, sorry you are too liberal to understand this. You act like I would hunt them down by following broken tree branches and track them back to their house where I would slaughter their families. Get a grip.
Also, you tell me to stay on topic in the GSC thread when talking about my GSC getting ripped. Now you come in here and talk more crap. Please get out.

Also, to the people who say get a dog and blah blah blah. I would lay down my life before I would let somebody kill my animal over my pot garden, no doubt. I love my dogs just as much as my wife and family. I got myself into this, nobody else but me should be on the line.

Organic Buds I explained to you that my comment in the GSC thread was directed at everyone that has been off topic and you were the last one I was talking to at the time. That comment was made towards the arguing going on with Blaz3. Not sure why you took it so personal. Now you think my giving my opinion in this thread is somehow a personal jab ? Nothing right about killing someone over cannabis ... if your family is somehow threatened I do agree thats a diff thing. But my opinion is valid and my opinion.
If you think your going to tell me to get out of this thread you better think again. Insulting mods is not a good way to fly here.

just so I'm better understood I'd like to state this, I'm quite opinionated but all my life no matter what I've said people have either misunderstood me (somehow always to their advantage) or heard whatever they wanted to hear (selective hearing); when I have my say in threads I really seem to take offense when my words are clearly written yet somehow wrongly turned against me while all I have to do to defend my position is to quote myself (or reference the post) to prove them wrong as I've done above.

I don't like doing this, I'll go out on a limb by saying that I don't think anyone likes to misquoted or so misconstrued. To defend my words pushes me into making what sounds to be a stronger position but what the heck! if I was misunderstood the 1st time my guess is that I've gotta make myself crystal clear the 2nd time out which really makes me sound/look like a hard ass, I don't like this but most folks here already know I can't/won't be played that way.

nobody should ever expect that I'll lay down by my dish when they treat my posts as I've just described and I can promise you I already treat you all thusly. If I think you're wrong for some reason I'll tell you so & why, if you've come unhinged on a member needlessly I'm quick to defend them; I read carefully through threads before weighing in w/my opinions and btw I'd be quick to defend any of you being slammed over bullshit.

I stay out of many threads as their either not my business or I know absolutely nothing (a whole lotta nuttin') of the subject, I might throw a joke into a thread like that but it's always quite obviously so. If I make a joke I almost never punctuate it w/smilies, please don't take offense as I'm sarcastic & facetious; anyone here will tell ya that if I really don't like what you're saying I'll let ya know for sure, all guesswork and joking aside!

I never show up lookin' for a fight w/members, if I weigh in strongly on the subject of the thread that's my entitlement, please argue your side and don't make your post a personal attack on me, it's very very likely I didn't start that way myself even if our opinions are polar opposites.

An exception to this rule I reserve for 'conspiracy theorist' thread starters, there is NEVER a valid argument of facts that can be offered to them; someone's cast the bait & they've been hooked, lucky us, eventually it finds its way here! If it's a theory w/a shred of possibility of collusion up or down the line I'll leave it alone, I will however question a members agenda for repeatedly posting nonsense; I'm usually not alone in those regards although not always the most popular opinion as the people most strongly responding in those threads are fervent believers. If they're tortured by their beliefs (real or imagined) I really feel for them, I think it's like fighting demons from w/in.

I also feel badly that I made a joke here in this thread which was misconstrued which then started an onsite shootout amongst a bunch of you. shame on me? :dunno:

I tried to make this my signature but it was too many characters so I put it here.

oh look, a smiley.......

I've had my yard ripped too--happened about four years ago. Don't listen to anyone telling you to move your business indoors--the rippers know you grow and are going to assume, maybe correctly, that there's more to be had under your roof. Ask me how I know--I got burglarized after the punks helped themselves to all my hard work outside. An indoor grow would just be a magnet, tempting them into your home. In fact, it would be a very safe assumption that they're already interested in coming inside.

I have a motion sensor attached to a knothole on my fence. It beeps inside the house when activated (can't be heard outside). It has informed me more than once of lurkers outside the fence--twice this year alone. Cheap and HIGHLY effective, you wouldn't sleep through this thing. I got mine on Harbor Freight's website.

Oh, I also drilled strips of carpet tack along the top of my fence last year. They've gotten nice and rusty. :) Anyone gets the bright idea they'd like to hop my fence, or tear down a board to gain entry, they'll get some nice bloody fingers for their effort. It's a good bet that it's already happened. I haven't had any intruders since putting THAT shit up. Yes too to cameras and aggressive signage. You want signs indicating that you are armed, and that cameras are watching 24 hours. Even a display of dummy cameras would be a deterrent.

I feel your pain and anxiety. Rippers should have their hands chopped off! The good news is you CAN keep these shits at bay. I've managed to do so without firearms. I do have a baseball bat by the bed, and hornet spray--the kind you can spray from a distance of 25 feet.

Bear mace can, the big canister type to blind them. Rig two or three to posts camo'd up an rigged to strings by ur back door an pull. Can't run if ya can't see right. They will be back an you just need to get some bait back in position for them. May cost a few bucks but it will work, those bear mace cans get major coverage lol.

So sorry OrganicBuds, always liked your post, I hate to hear bad things happen to good people, such BS. Hope the best for you...just think, they can't still your knowledge from you, time and money are one thing, but you'll be back, bigger and better (along with security)

ye you have good points if they know you grow ull be a target

I like the sensor idea, maybe get a greenhouse it would add another layer of security.

I don't think that killing someone over plants is right. But killing someone over the fact of them thieving and invading your life and hard work,,, I'll fuckin pull the trigger and sleep like a baby at night. Fuck those motherfucking thieves. Thin the herd.

Sorry about your plight man. Come to CO, it's less volatile in my experience cause every freakin body grows.

Weed Burner electric fence routed around the inside of the fence and around the plants, motion lights with a warning buzzer inside the house, deer cameras to get their pics, mist the weed with some water soluble safe to use nutes or vitamins or thing that makes it taste like shit until a couple of weeks before harvesting...then just use mist water...if someone gets it they can't smoke it and won't ever bother to come back..maybe have a synthetic skunk spray bomb/trap if they get too close that covers a 10' area around the plants to get 'em all...hidden recording of a pump shotgun action working sounding like it's coming from around a building. Beehive trap with an automatic light...make it knock the hive over like they did it themselves in case they want to sue...seems we are not thinking yet. This subject should have been brainstormed on already and a dozen ways to protect out shit already discovered and worked out so we don't have to hurt/kill anyone...Oh yeah, it has to safe for the family in the day also..

Someone asked for an image of the motion sensor I use--here it is. Do a search on Harbor Freight dot com. I used an old 6V power adapter for the indoor part of the unit, otherwise I suspect it'd be a battery hog. Great item, an essential part of my security.

I attached mine on my side of the fence over a waist-high knothole. I know the second someone is on the other side of the fence. Punks have no idea they're tripping an electronic device in the house.

These strips of carpet tack have, without question, kept some ill-intentioned assholes off my property. Dual purpose is right! Don't just nail them atop your fence, though--screw them down. Otherwise they're easy to remove. Absolutely worth the added effort. I attached them right on the top edge so they won't be missed when someone puts his hands on top of my fence.

Sorry to hear man, not much more frustrating than being ripped. Try to turn your anger into energy and get your green fingers back into the soil. Even if it's just a little closet grow, don't let these bastards deter you. I'm sure a lot of us know what you are feeling from personal experience, and I sincerely wish you all the best. The ball is in your court now!

Here is the story if you guys want to hear it.

I noticed somebody ripped a branch on Tuesday. Not sure it happened on Tuesday, but that is when I saw it. just a small amount, but prompted me to buy a camera system and set it up that night.

Saturday - Got my camera up and running, texting my phone with anything that sets off motion. Sends me e-mails, can watch from three tv's in my house and my cell phones and tablets, sweet right?

Sunday - 3am Four guys wearing camo came to the back of my fence. My cell phone was alarmed, but I was dead asleep. Two jumped up and sat at the top of my 9' fence for 5 min. I can only assume waiting to hear if they alarmed the dogs, or me. After another 5 min of slowly walking around in the back yard they decided to rip the plants with two crappy hand saws. Got most of the plants cut and started to throw them over the fence to the other two guys waiting. At this point the other guys would run the cut branches down the street to a car out of view from my cameras. I think this is when my dogs noticed them and started to bark. I bolted outside with some non lethal weapons but they were long gone. They left a trail of crap all the way down the street. Wasn't bad enough I got jacked, but then I had to clean up after them so the neighborhood kids wont stubble on some herb plants.

I drove around in my truck for about a half hour looking for them, but no luck. When I got home I called the cops and had them do a report on the matter. The cops were super cool, even joking about taking the weed that was left and piling it up around them and taking pictures, pretending the made a huge cartel style bust. They didn't sweat me at all about having cannabis, and seemed like they wanted to catch the criminals.

They found the hand saws, and a hat that has lots of hair in it. I also found several cig butts down at the end of the street where they were most likely waiting, next to a burn out mark from when they left.

I don't think the cops are going to investigate too much, but I am thinking of hiring a private detective and turning all the evidence to him/her. Also I live next to a Mexican market, and the guys seemed to be of Latin desent, so I am going to post pictures up of the suspects. Also at the worker center down the street, where labors walk to everyday from behind my house. ( I have an ally backs to my house) Was even thinking of posting a reward poster.

Another thing, not saying anybody should listen to me only on this but here it goes:

When I was talking with the cops I started to say, "I am pissed that our government decided to take away my God given right to own guns in a house that has cannabis growing in it."

The cop said, "No way man, we only prosecute gun charges on the people that deserve it. Drug dealers or gang bangers, not guys like you."

I am driving up to my cabin today and grabbing my arsenal. Dudes better not come back, cause I am done fucking around.

Fuck! I was fuming and cursing in my mind while reading the details on what happened! Where is the respect for one's private and property. It's people who mostly have nothing to lose and do not feel any remorse by stealing in general. Screw them! EACH one of them needs to be taught a lesson including our LEADERS!

Couple of good tips has been thrown out here. Tis a cruel world out there. We all have to protect what is ours. I have 1.5 million + volt taser charged and ready to go. Going to upgrade my security very soon when the weather cools down. I'm sure you will fine tune your system.

It's the people and their decaying moral character that enables perpetual criminal behavior

I stand by what I said, dogs are mans best friend for a reason. They will die for you and your family, happily defending you until their last breath..they will never abandon you,or betray you.All they ask in return is your compassion, some food, water,a game of fetch here and there...not much, but they will love you in return.

Forget the fancy cameras, alarms, floodlighths, you want to protect your home, get a dog.Period.I dobut rippers will even comtemplate breaking in if they have a 60pound,snarling beat staring at them...just daring them to step into his domain.I am not talking the cute little poodles and pomeranians,Im talking German Sheperds,Rottweilers,Bull Terriers,Labradors, etc. Also female dogs are supposed to be more loyal and protective than males.

ugh. just get some geese. guard dogs that want to kill people are sad. they should be normal happy dogs with a family, not an abused asshole monster dog.

all they have to do is toss in a poisoned steak. if that doesnt work, they may sue you for having killer dogs. does that work?

the notion that a dog would die for you is kind of retarded. i would hazard a guess that the vast majority of dogs (that is, normal, nice dogs) wouldn't 'die' for any reason as that would imply they are killing or somehow know how to take a bullet. wtf is that

having a dog for the only purpose of being a people killing machine is fucking sad. just get some geese, no one gives a shit about geese. if your attack dog kills some ones or fucks them up your way more screwed than getting your weed robbed. in the city.

Sorry to read about your trouble, rippers suck as does all stealing. The question in my mind is how the rippers found your garden in the first place. Was your garden visible from the street? I know rippers are pretty determined, maybe they just scouted all the yards in your hood and stumbled upon it but maybe not. you got film of them and didn't recognize any so that's a good thing because the only thing worse than getting ripped is getting ripped by a friend. I know the feeling of wanting retribution runs heavy after getting ripped but just be careful that you don't do anything that'll get your ass in trouble. The same with guns, I know you have a right to protect yourself and your property but don't do anything that'll bite you on your ass. One thing worse than getting ripped is going to jail. I know it's kinda lame assed but sometimes the world just sucks and you gotta hope that karma will get the asswipes down the road. Good luck and may your next crop make up for your losses.

Staying up waiting to see if these guys come back. I have seen the cops drive by twice this hour now. This is about the time list night shit went down, so I am stoked to see the police doing rounds. Gives me hope the cops catch these guys. Not sure if the thieves think I still have plants going cause I chopped what was left, but I hope they creep right when the cops patrol.
