Underside...

Bonsai is recovering from her whatever it was , she went through. Quite a bit of growth has been eaten . She is still sporting damaged leaves. Looks like she is through the worst of it now tho .

Both Shiva and Olympia are still practically untouched by whatever upset the others .
Shiva has had a slight touch of damage , insignificant really tho.

Lots been going on in last week or so. Gaia is definitely started flowering. Olympia had her lower branches cut a couple weeks ago and her cuts are now in soil , sat in propogator in greenhouse. I assume at this late stage . They will probably have to be finished off indoors now ...
Brought some more canes in hope of just getting some more openness for the penetration , Olympia has a lot of growth . Shiva is just cracking on with it and Bonsai ... Will loose a couple of her branches today . I will pic it . Basically due to her illness a while ago , she has recovered well .

I'm thinking of some thinning out of Olympia due to how much new growth.

Gaia had a branch off today . I noticed it wasn't standing on it's own steam . I have placed it with the rest of the cuts.
I left Gaia's last bit of training until tomorrow. I just got a cane in place .

I spent around 2 days looking and procrastinating, pondering over how to give Olympia the most of her situation . As too the other girls . I decided to move Gaia due to being slightly too shady where she was. I need to be careful whereabouts I place her due to overlooking neighboring houses .

I like the way the branches almost look like completely different plants . It is only one plant I assure you :) .

Olympia has so much going on , some of these pics are out of sync. I used a wire and made a small hook shape on one end . Then tucked it under the brick. This is just more LST . Today I spent a little time on 3 of the girls mostly all cane work to open up and a little repositioning.

Bonsai has gone back into training and I have an idea for next year's wall'O'weed .
Any how... Bonsai will adapt and will be well grateful for the recent changes I have made to her stature .
IMG_20230710_202504.jpg

Here I use a small coiled ring of wire , tying the lower branch to a higher stretched out branch. Encouraging the lower one to reach for the sky . Sometimes I have snapped or even squashed branches doing this . They only need be there until the lower branch top reaches the same height as the tops on the parenting branch ( the one being tied to) .
IMG_20230710_202431.jpg

The bend required here to bring this branch out to receive the light , would force the branch to snap. So I have place a cane at the point of where I wish to start the bend , I'm using the wire at the bottom to stretch out the branch and hold it and at the mid-drift . Just temporary as one more slight adjustment will be made in a few days time.
I have also stretched out some of the lower branches and will need to move some of the bits I'm using as a barrier from the neighbors view .

It was looking at this pic that gave me my idea for next year. These outstretched branches will be persuaded to bow upwardly... Sooner than later as I wish to avoid them naturally reaching untill I have a couple of canes in place to tie there tops top .
