So at what point would the flush begin to keep from interrupting the gain?
Curious as the chunks I'm looking at are 49 days and needing additional support almost daily and associate is stressing over bud rot possibilities.
Room is near perfection for atmosphere but the fool is talking chop.
Baddass plant, JW.

To answer your question, I would say you shoulda started flushing day 42. Then you can chop day 63 or day 65 no problem - epic fade - pure flavor.

It would be nice if some one did a comparison, but I doubt the flush hinders gain to than extreme lol.

I got over a QP from a 3 gallon coco, I didn't really train well so maybe the mass amounts of bud sites did it, but Then again I flushed for over 3 weeks. Lets the true flavor shine in the smoke.

healthy smoke over heavy smoke friend.

Good idea I think to pay the man back. Donate gg4 beans and have it setup so jw gets the 50.... :good:

Best to keep lights off when chopping. This way you don't pull up any sugars or anything. I'm sure your stuff is supherb, but this will make it even better.

Let me clarify my technique.
The day before chop, I de-leaf all my plants.
So the morning at harvest, I come in the room, turn on a 60w incandecent lightbulb, so I can see, and it takes me 5 minutes to chop all plants at the base of the stem and hang them up.
With the heavy flush the day before, and the quick chop, the plants dont have time to draw any sugars into the stems.

Those that use some type of cloner what do you have your water temp set to?

High 60s low 70s
68-72 f
Get much warmer than that u run the risk of slime forming. May not happen but the risk increases. Below 68 may have issues taking extra time to root if at all. Once they root 65-70f is even more optimal like you would chill a hydro system down to. Keep those nasties at bay with the cold.
IMO

The temps on my cloner swings from mid 60's at night 82ish during the day, even as high as 85. I get awesome results, I add pool shock aka chlorine to my rez and never have any slime build up even in the high temps.. Best system I have used, king cloner + pool shock.

That seems low. Everything I have read has it at 75-78f. I can verify with mine the warmer the water the roots are thick and root faster then cooler water. I have mine set at 78f all is fine roots are developing very nice. I do change the water every week. I also clean it I don't just change the water. Mine is on a large heat mat with a temp controller setup.. The temp probe is in the water. I just set this up last week. So far no issues.

I am using tap but let it sit over night before I use it. Might try straight from the tap it has plenty of chlorine ppm are 80..I get the same results you do with warmer water..I don't use bleach since I keep it so clean slim doesn't have time to grow.

Hey what ever works for you.
I know what temps provide an environment for bad bacteria to grow
I may lose a couple of days on rooting speed but avoid the issues warmer temps do eventually bring.
Cleaning and change outs def help. I don't touch mine besides top off until I empty it and plant. So two weeks usually.
Every time I've had slime form I was upper 70s from the jump. By the time I got roots I also started getting slime.
Every time I drop temps its smooth sailing and they all root.
Another good idea is to rebuild a manifold every yr and its not a bad idea to replace the pump every so often.
I've read a lot of things that were wrong on the Internet. I only been using aero clones 8 yrs. don't mind me

I just wanted to see what you guys keep the temp at. If that works for you great.. What I do works for me. I have never had slim or any other issue like that with any of my cloners over decades of use on many types of systems. I'm no spring chicken been doing this a very long time... What I read on the net coincides with my results.. I also cant keep the water temp at those #'s without some type of cooling. Mine will always be at least room temp even with switching pump on /off.
