True....they may have it but they come with some nasty stow aways too I bet...I'm cool on dispensary cuts I've spent years battling what carnage they can bring to a room. I'm in a brand new location with all new gear.. No pm no mites etc etc... Im keeping it that way. I matter how bad I want a cut the dispo may have..

If you think you can keep PM out of a grow maybe you are fooling yourself, it is air-born, it is everywhere, and vectored by many insects, the best defense is to use resistant plants that never get PM. Sexual reproduction is via chasmothecia, the black specks. Sphacrotheca macularis (Fibroidium) and Leveillula taurica, the Cannabis powdery mildew fungi, reproduce both sexually and asexually. They were not a real problem until the introduction of WLD, Indica varieties, even the NLD, Sativa X WLD, Indica hybrids are mostly susceptible to PM.

I also fade my plants. To me they all taste better than none faded plants. If I can taste a diff not a growing myth to my taste buds.

Funny. I just harvested a garden of outdoor cannabis. Cherry Pies, Blue frost, ect. My garden is surrounded by vegetation which by this time of year is nearly white from PM. Yet my plants have none, zip , zero, ect. Not a trace. At least not one visible to my naked eye.

I dont think it is the variety, rather the health of the plant, which dictates PM resistance.

The more researched organic growers will tell you that inducing senescence through flushing is an old growing myth (not as in the sense that it doesn't work, but rather that its unnecessary.) Food for thought. :tiphat:

n then I smoke a green plant and get a nitrogen throb headache about 45 min later.
no thanks
happens every time
they might say that but I disagree

I'm not suggesting taking the plants green. I'm saying the trees turn colors in the fall without a flush, and your plants can to! Lol do what works for you. It was just a tip. I know how my buds smoke and I have an excess of organic matter in my beds.

Yes but the organic matter could have little nutrients. Just be high in carbon like wood chips or sawdust. By themselves they won't decomposes with out nitrogen. So a excess of organic matter. Or something like peatmoss which is incomplete decomposition of plant matter. Not really nutrient rich but full of organic matter.

Just a guess because I don't want to be carried off by his hawk sized fungus gnats. So I stay away from his grow.

True. I see your point Ich.
I'm just looking to get a smoother smoke from my buds that already smoke very nice. To me, that means having them 'finish off' properly. To each his own tho...

5 days ago I cut (4) GG4's that were in 5gal smart pots.. actually two per pot.. I had these four gg4s under a 1k watter on one side and on the other side I had a bunch of my elmers and a thin mint..
the four gg4 just got done drying and I put in paper bags.. Yield on the gg4s was over 21oz dry, no fluff.. With the Elmers included this should be a record for me in soil. So over an oz a gallon of soil. hardcore pruned. just thought Id share. wish I had 4 more 5gal gg4s on the other side.. wouldve got 42oz from a 1k watter in soil.. the elmers and thin mint should yield decent, and itll prob still be a record for me, but man (8) 5gal gg4's, 2 per pot, would rock the house!!!!!!

id be curious to put some flushed against some lightly fed non flushed and see if folks can really tell the difference. ive had to pll in the past (not glue) before doing a proper flush and honestly couldnt tell the difference. granted these werent toxically overfed they were just still green and healthy, but not blue green. i honestly would be shocked if anyone could tell but you know, im not a frequent smoker. nobody complained. it was soil with bpb. had some pretty snobby people poking at it too. not one person said anything but compliments on the smoke.

I think certain strains can pull off the zero flush better than others. Seems to be the strains with the more pungent terpene profiles fair better with a less than perfect flush.
The more delicate flavors seem to be the ones that need it most.
