You should treat coco like hydro, grow in small pots and feed multiple times a day NEVER let it dry out or you'll be chasing ur tail the whole grow.

You can grow 10ft plants in 3 gals of coco, I use 1-2 gals fed 20 seconds every hour at 1.2ec peak flower, after plants are root bound in their tiny pots they explode, look at Dansbud he is a good example to watch for coco tips

Hollow stems is common in hydro

Only times I've had hollow was in Dwc.

Tiny buds are also common when over fed , and/or overwatered.

pics are always a bit blurry when I load them to icmag compared to what they look like originally. Not sure how to fix that...

I just up potted a 10 foot plant in a 3 gallon pot. Had to cut it back to 7.5 feet to flower it. This was about 3 hours ago.

And yes over feeding does make for smaller buds. Seen it often with new guys growing thinking they were underfeeding and giving more and more to get bigger buds. But ending up with smaller buds.

But many also say the gorilla genes don't like to be root bound? I am a firm supporter of coco, small pots and multiple feeds, but am unsure of the pot sizing given the aforementioned.

because of the aeration of coco ,you can rootbound a pot , but its not like soil where you can smother the roots , it breathes better , retains oxygen better , retains nutrients better , but it also retains salt better , which is why you never let it dry out . salts are not harmful untill they dry up & crystalize . if they stay wet , they get flushed out with the runoff & the discarded .
Zap i reuse the same pot of coco 3 times before i finally chuck it in the garbage . a little enzymes in the feed when i recharge the pot for reuse & its good to go for next round .

Thanks Dans! I usually start in a 2" pot and transplant to a 1 or 3 gallon depending if they're going into veg or flower. (Some cuts start a little larger than others) I have a picture in another thread with the roots I get in a 2" pot at transplant. Going to put the GG into 3 gallons direct because they've been rooted with aero and have some big roots already. Pics to follow when my dogs stop their shit and I get the time! Vibes Dans! Some lovely ladies down here!!!

HELP PLEASE
Up potted from 2g to 25g into the new room and watered /Fed and they are all curling bad and yellowing. This exact thing happened the first round when I potted to 25g in this room but doesn't happen in any other room.

Promix hp soil
Jack's professionial nutrients
Well water room temp
1000-1200 ppm co2

This is the 2nd day and they are getting worse. I'm stumped as this has happened before . I assume its the water or soil or the room or all combined. I've never had such stresses. Any advice will help to fix these girls asap

Fucked up PH together with too much non-balanced nutes,

you need to flush with tap water very good to clean excess nutes and balance PH (hope you have tap water close to 7 ph) and then
easily feed complete NPK,secondary Mg,S,Ca and micro but very easily, third of
a normal dose...

and then wait they bounce back also water to evaporate good from big pots
and they spread a roots more better inside pots, than you can feed more normaly again.

First, thank you for everyone's replies, to my hydro problem!!! I am dropping back to the feed schedule I used for coco. The best coco grow I had, I had to micro manage. Testing runoff every few days for each plant, and feeding accordingly to get runoff about 1.2 EC. It was hand watering in airpots and surface would be dry by time for watering. With all the holes, maybe a lot of the coco was too dry.

For the guy with the HP promix. Have never used it. Those seem like huge pots, and my guess is over watering with that droop. HPS light sucks for pictures. This is the best guide I have ever seen. Skim through it quick at first, to see if pictures look like your problem.

When I had good coco grows, I was getting 1.2 gram per watt, dried and trimmed, using 3 gallon airpots, which are actually about 2 gallons. Like I said, I do not know Promix.

your not going to fix them right away . its going to take a week or so for them to dry out . get some air movement going in there & turn the lights up too . they need to be dried out & refed with an on point feed , meaning correct EC & PH for thier stage of life . but do not saturate the pots when you feed them for the next couple weeks , only give them enough to get through a day or 2 at the most . feed them alot less than you normally do , but more often . & they should start to perk up in a week or so .

i now thanx to Tonys advice , transplant from the solo cups right into my 3 gallon pots & put them in veg like that under my 600's . & man what a difference its made in my veg time ! i bet its cut my veg time in half ! no more cups to 5" pots then into the 3 gallon . its not needed !!! they grow faster & better right in the final pots !!!

pics are proof bro !!!

If I could have tuned and automated coco, may have stayed with it. Would imagine you are using automatic recycling timer, and tune it to the second.

yep , just a standard timer with seconds of on time . makes dialing in for runoff perfect !!!

I have automatic recycling timer for aeroponics, which was about $75. The Home depot timers I use for hydro are about $12. How much are the timers you use, and what brand?

Be well!!!
