Mine goes pretty quick at 250 300 z 40 for 2.8 all day Gotta compete w the flood of vaccum packs from out of state. Most in my area would rather have bulk than quality...

I just started a round of GG #4 about 3 weeks ago, my first time running her, noticing some mutation like growth that appeared first after fresh transplant into a amended soil mix.

Seems to have mostly stopped at this point but odd leafs with blades that turn sharply, None of the other plants in the room are doing it.

Out here in SoCal the market is so saturated with Glue or "supposed" glue. There are so many growers here putting out inferior product or labeling something else with the Glue name that its taken away from the uniqueness, rare and how very special this strain really is that any of us long time growers really understand and appreciate. My customers Ive had for many years always ask for the Glue first! Because I know how to grow her and bring out the best in her. When done properly, in my opinion, having grown 1000`s of strains over 27 years, she is my absolute favorite hands down! If I haven't said it before, Thank you Joesy!!! Seriously Dude, Right on!!

saturated is the best way to describe glue. never seen fake glue before but see a lot of sub par light dep glue. but seriously, i keep seeing everybody talking about the price they get then notice theyre on the east coast. it's been the most saturated strain in the bay area for like over a year now.

tell me what you get for it in the bay area, colorado, or washington. hard to get over 3 for it. everybody has had it and everybody whos a grower out here has grown it because it was the next big cash crop.

the strains now that are fetching the highest prices are the glue and cookie crosses, sherb crosses. but reg old glue cant easily be found now low to mid 2's here in the bay...unless it's a glue hyrbid, those are fetching 3-3.5

Gg4 still takes 5 of 12 spots every run. What's then1st strain I run out of? GG4 every time hands down. I also grow.some other bad ass strains (darlins net, chaos, mob boss, mob fuck, and a few others).

She will continue to take 5 spots every run after run.

I switched to tents about 9 months ago. Was using coir, and had mold problems so went back to hydro. Growth has been amazing with hydro. What could be causing a smaller bud set? Still have about 3 weeks left. Would too much feed cause reduced budding? The only other thing, is they are closer to light than coco.

Is the smaller bud set up top?? If so maybe light strength or heat?? I noticed when i went to a led the light strength diminished and so did the size of the tops... and you can definately tell the bud size difference between a 600 and 1k. I usually feed my trays between 1.0 and 2.0 ec depending on what they need...

I was feeding 2.0 EC. Hoping for some swell the last 3 weeks. I never let them get that close to lights before. Hydro has to be raised about a foot, to be able to drain to reservoir.

Are you grow temperatures getting colder with the season?

thats your problem right there ! 2.0 feeds will lock up the budset ! BTDT !!! 1.4 EC max at peek flower lets them stack & fatten up the buds much more !!!

Yeah in coco my veg gets .8 and flower 1.2ec max and that's under DE bulbs, these plants don't need as much as the nutes companies got everyone thinking.

I just want to make sure we are not comparing apples to oranges. I have tried coco for over 2 years and hate it. The current grow is flood and drain in hydroton, which is completely inert, no cation exchange, no salt buildup.

I had always shot for 1.2 EC with coco, and have had runoff as high as 5.2 EC. Someone growing GG4 suggested 2.0 to 2.4 EC for hydroton. Could the small buds be underfeeding. What would signs of under or overfeeding be, at 5 weeks into flower.

They get flooded for 5 minutes. In veg every 3 hours when lights on, in flower every 2 hours, with one feed in middle of dark period, so it is not like DWC which would be constantly fed.

I have always used the GH Flora Series, using their charts. For drain to waste coco, they said 1.2 to 1.6, and used 1.2 max. Their recirculating hydro chart said 2.2 to 2.6 EC, so figured I would be on low side.

I would prefer not to, but could setup a tent with 2 reservoirs, with one high and one low.

FYI - in veg I was getting hollow stems, if that could be a sign of over/under feeding. Was told it was calcium, which I never had with coco.

Thanks!!

hollow stems or not hollow stems, that is the question.. I've read here that long time GG4 cultivators typically want/have solid stems. I don't know what causes hollow stems, always thought it was genetic. Best weed I've ever grown (early BBCheese) had hollow stems and was the best yielder I've ever had... so to answer your question, I dono :dunno: what causes HS. under/over feeding or genetic. :tiphat:

I have heard the same thing, that hollow stems are best. I know they are much worse for taking cuttings, and usually lose about 50%, turning to mush.

A few have suggested calcium deficiency. Have cut all back to 1.2 EC. Only 3 weeks left on current flower. The veg has to go to flower ASAP, and will run at 1.2 and see if any deficiencies become apparent. The run after that, I might run half tent coco and half hydro.

I do not want to clog up this thread. If anyone would like to discuss, send a PM. I will start a separate thread if I find out anything interesting. In veg, they grow crazy fast hydro flood and drain, fed up to 2.0 EC. Flowering looks lame though. I have got 1.2 grams per watt dried and trimmed a few times in coco. I may try experiment feeding high in veg and low in flower.

I was hoping to find someone that had moved GG4 from coco to flood and drain hydro.

Here is a picture of some top cuttings that turned to mush in 3 days in water, to show how hollow. The other picture is the ones that survived.

Here is a thread I started about the problem in the infirmary, for hollow stem and growing GG4 in hydro, if it should be discussed there -
