Does anyone use flood and drain hydro with hydroton???? I am trying to figure out if it needs a stronger feed than coco.

If not, what are the indications that GG4 is getting too much nutrients?

At RIU they were saying 1000 - 1200 PPM or 2.0 - 2.4 EC.

I`ve been growing glue for almost 2 years and its taken me most of that 2 years to figure her out and I finally have for my environment. I run ebb and grow in 2 gallon buckets with rockwool sometimes and hydroton other times. I run 2.6ec with the glue in flower and have never had a burnt leaf tip or the claw. I do have to say my environment is exactly perfect vpd and I run Co2. If I add Calmag in flower she just locks up at least for me. If I add some floranectar which is mag/sulfer/molasses about 70ppms the whole run she just explodes the entire time with massive huge flowers at the end. Hope this helps!

Remember we talked about the difference between drain to waste like coco and recirculating like ebb and flow. Ebb and flow is not drain to waste it drains back to its res therefore recirculation.

Coco can handle that type of ec I have found recently but that's totally on point for recirculating hydro.

Thanks for the replies. Will post some pictures as the grow progresses, and the results. I have had up to 1.2 gram per watt, trimmed and dried with coco.

This is homemade aeroponic unit for young plants. Made from PVC fence posts from HD.

That's an efficient looking setup Loc Dog, looks like you might have less than 200$ into it. Lot of bang for your buck. Have you considered more light? My unwanted advice would be to add 1-2 more light fixtures and hang reflective curtains from the boards holding up the lights so all sides reflect inward.

I like to see cost effective setups like this that anyone could afford and not worry about a high electric bill. A setup like this helps people who are wasting their hard earned money that they cant afford to spend on overpriced substandard weed become self sufficient with some research and or help.

I built that as cheap as possible about 4 years ago, and have not used since. All GG4 growers seemed to grow in coir, and could advise on coir. Most expensive part was the recycling timer, which was about $75 then, think about $50 now. I bought seven heavy duty aquarium pumps cheap from China, and use one of them in it. Second most expensive was the perfect size hole saw for the net pots, so no leaking.

The root growth is insane with aeroponic. Will be moved to flood and drain soon. Will post pictures. Very cheap, most stuff from home depot. Anyone trying this, make sure you have no leaks before putting into use. I do not like to move anything once in final pots.

One tip if you try to make one. The hole saw you use needs pilot bit attached. I bought cheap one, and had to build jig, to get clean holes.

Nice set up Loc Dog. There was a guy on here that offered a tutorial on building those. Could never find those fence post covers in my area though.
