Any that are looking to make your own fem seeds this might help you get the right Sodium Thiosulfate..The pic below shows both types of Sodium Thiosulfate.. The one on the right is pentahydrate the one on the left is Anhydrous.. You want Anhydrous to use when making STS. You can use pentahydrate but the recipes that we all use are for Anhydrous. You will have to use more of the pentahydrate. I don't know how much more you would need to use. Instead of guessing or using the wrong stuff just get the right kind.. I ordered Anhydrous but this is what they sent me. I'm sure they thought I wouldn't know the difference. I don't want anyone getting the wrong kind and not know it.

how were to you able to tell the difference? they obviously are different granular size but i guess i wouldnt know if it were the same in different size grain or the other.
i would have probably guessed it to just be a different processor vs the

Its easy to tell the difference. 1 is a powder the other is a crystal. If you use the recipe we all use with pentahydrate you wont get the plant to reverse. The ratio will be off. The bottle will not say pentahydrate or Anhydrous. it will have there Chemical formula like this. You have to know witch is witch.. Anhydrous is more concentrated. pentahydrate has H2O in it.

Na2S2O3-- This is Anhydrous
Na2S2O3·5H2O--This is pentahydrate

when using pentahydrate and the formula indicates anhydrous multiply by .64

source- photography class....

anhydrous at 64 lb bags are equivalent to 100 lb of penta.

All the recipes we use are for Na2S2O3. If you don't know what you have you won't know to add 50% more.. I wouldn't of even brought this up had I got the right stuff. I'm 100% sure they didn't think I knew the difference..

Makes more sense now as to why you didn't have success the first time. I knew the recipes I had posted were good and worked just fine previously. LOL.

Glad you got it all figured out PF.

The first post of this thread shows the lineage of GG4. If you are asking where it all happened then that's Southwest USA
Yea I see that lineage chart, I'm still a rookie I'll admit so maybe I'm asking a stupid ?- but what I'm wondering is what region of the world are those different strains from...? Iv read you can learn about some of your plants likes and dislikes of temperature and such knowing where it came from originally on the globe... Or does that theory go out the window with these hybrids?

I always had the right kind. I just didn't know how to collect the pollen. None of the reversed plants I have ran drop pollen like a normal male would. I have 3 in the male tent now. I can show what they do in another thread.

Gorilla Glue is a crazy hodge podge pile of polyhybrid genetic fuckery. Any of what you're talking about went out the window. It's important to remember that at the end of the day we're dealing with a WEED. They will adapt to any number of environments and grow accordingly. Sure, they will rock out when they are dialed in but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If you want to continue researching on down that line then you can google each of those and come up with your own conclusions.
