I think it becomes a little more clear cut on which nodes to clean up a couple weeks into flower. I give em a good trim twice, at flip, and a little after buds show up. Didn't do it last time and the nugs were just nowhere near what I see all you guys pulling in 63-70 days. Hoping the extra couple hours delarfing makes the difference.

Makes a huge difference for me with the glue. I think you will be thinking it's time well spent around week 7 an 8.
Once I started gettin ruthless on the larf I got em to start stacking much better.

Absolutely.
Delarfing the Glue helps stack the tops very nice. I get great harvests when I lollipop and grow straight up with only 5 or 6 nodes from the top down. Every bud is a big dense cluster of Glue.

i usually use hydro halos , but didn't have enough for this tent run , so i just used 4 drip stakes per pot & made a loop from the 1/4" line & T's .

I shave their legs in veg... any specific reason you dont?

i do trim them back in veg too , but i wait till the stretch is over & then clear out all the under brush that didn't come through the net .the canopy will get pretty thick & not much light gets through & this cuts out on all the larf .

i strip them back quite a bit so that this is what it looks like under the net ..... no larf to deal with at harvest .
no larf , budset is better & more air circulation around the plants .... win win !

Structure look familiar? :p Think the Glue's got the mocha Bubble genes all hopped up on diesel fumes. I'll finally have an actual opinion on the matter in 3 months or so  :tiphat:

I have less headspace, but I do the same shaving.. I only leave the top couple inches of the branches at flip, which is why I'm askin... as much as I strip off, I like to give em that stress in a time that is not flowering.

i hear ya , but GG doesn't really slow down that much with the stress of shaving her . some strains will come to a dead stop for a few days , but it don't seem to slow her down one bit !
i kinda wish it did ....might help slow the stretch down lol

There is a school of thought that claims the earlier the stress the more the yield reduction. It is based on Iowa st corn research. A corn plamt decides very early...based on how much energy it has early on...how many ears to set. Then how many rows per ear and last how many kernels per row.

Point being the better...the less stress free...you start a plant the better it finishes.

Does it apply to cannabis...you got me. But it might. Could be worth a side by side

exactly why I do my shaving more slowly in veg over time, removing lowers in 2-3 sessions allowing some recovery time before flip.

I'm definitely a fan of removing the lower larfy stuff although I have yet to decide if it's better done early vs. during flowering.

I see some of you clipping fan leaves off up high though and that's something I haven't really been able to get behind. My last Glue scrogg was so thick that I might try a little defoliation on one plant this round to see if it helps the lowers to get more light and nug up a little better.

Here's a theory from my stoned ass: it's better to do it early, i.e. in veg, because the plant wouldn't have spent the energy on those nodes vs if you were to wait for flowers to start to chop. I just get nervous cutting off all those nodes in veg because some of them randomly end up being a fat ass nug even tho it's in larf zone

I'm with dansbuds on this one. Glue is tough as nails and even a major prune or defoliation doesn't slow her down for me. I go medieval on her all the time with out a second thought. I like to take all her big fans off in flower when I scrog and am getting huge yields from her in return.
