That's incorrect. I took 10 leaves off different plants then inspected ea. I took pics of the worst one. I cut that leaf into 1/4 pieces then Inspected them all. I don't use any pesticides or preventive measures on the plants. Only the outside of the building is treated. No thrips, Mites or any insects where found on any of the leaves...
If I had thrips or any other insect I would find them.. I know what they look like, this is caused by environment. Believe me I would not keep anything that has insects nothing. I thought you would say mites as there is a spec on that leaf that looks like a mite. I magnified and its just soil/coco dust.
So have I close to 30 years now..

when you think you have nothing to learn your mistaken, damn near 30 years and I hope to learn something every day. if I don't it bites me in the ass sooner or later.
We are the same age. Been doin this since 84' Stand by my diagnosis. He definitely had thrips. Other guy 90% chance spider mites. They make super easy to diagnose marks and symptoms.
ok dud im not going to argue with ya... There are no thrips in my room period. You can think what you what. They came in too a snack and all left LMAO
These day's you half to have an inspection station. I'm not worried about myself. It's the people that use my flowers/plants I want to protect. No one will get flowers/plants from me with bugs or Pesticides in/on them. I will destroy everything and start over.

And so do I. It was 1980 when I started edit: Grown (smonkin started 3 years earlier) that's 34 years more then I thought. I never really had to think about it until now. ....Your welcome to come here yourself take a look since you obviously don't believe me. .Dead thrips would be there too there not. Thank god I have a gnome that come's in to take care of them for me.
Next time Dr.P is here I will have him take a look. Any insect he can find I will give him a free oz. The same offer goes for another person I wont name that's coming. He can report how many free oz he got.

I have to agree with PF, if you look at that last pic he posted its not a insect problem, the spots are all superficial. not coming through from the bottom to top. spider mites will leave a more yellow tinge on the leaf and it starts on the underside of the leaf and goes to the top surface,
^^^^^^this is very possible.. I mist all my plant with a foliar feed. There all vegged to a large size 3'. I can only say it's not from any insect. I would find them dead or alive. I do not lie about this stuff.

I would say yes, it looks more like a salt or residue than bugs for sure,
The fan blowing too strong causing the leaves to rub against each other.
Looks like thrip damage but theres no poop.
That could be any number of things - not just pest damage...
Foliar spray when the lights are on would have been my initial guess...or rubbing against the leaves when walking by them...
It appears as if you have broken capillaries - or perhaps a respiration issue of some sort...

Not saying your garden has pests PF, although the stippling on the leaves of the first plant looks like mites upon first glance.
I also thought the test pic looked like thrip damage and indeed thrips do leave similar markings when present, despite the lack of pests in your garden.
Obviously there are other things that make this marking.
I have seen similar leaf damage in my own garden and a lack of thrips as well... Thanks for sharing.

The point here is even if you have damage that looks like its from insects doesn't mean it is. They must be there to cause the damage. When I 1st noticed this years ago and couldn't find any it had to be from something else. I have inspected thousands upon thousands of leaves there not ghosts and very easy to find. You cant ID a insect problem by sight alone. Their are other possibility's that can look just like it. Without verification from dead/Alive/bugs you cant say ya that's from mites or any other insect.. If you suspect there are insect you must have a scope for a possessive ID. If you don't find any after weeks of checking its from another cause. They don't take a snack and then leave. They will proliferate.. only point I was making.
All 30 GG#4's I have are mite free except 1. She shown mite damage abit on the leaves and I turned a leaf over, seen 2 black dots, touched them with a piece of hair, and they moved. Spider Mites! I took that plant to the tub, sprayed it good, and now its outside.
There must have been quite a few eggs on the leaves when I got the cuts.
Experience is the only thing that saved my garden from a full infestation.
I havent had mites in years and years. They can come from anywhere.
At anyime. I never say my garden is pest free. Ill just stick with.......

This clone was the last to root that I was gifted. As long as I spray her 2 more times in 3 weeks, the mites will all be dead and there will be no eggs on her.
And wouldnt you know it...I stick that 12" clone outside and theres deer all over the place this morning. LOL
I wonder if the GG smells in veg. LOL

I don't grow in the summer so there's no plants for the insects to feed/live on. All my keepers are small clones 8" or smaller kept until the weather cools. This gives me the time to clean everything that I use to grow with. My grow season is from Autumn to next summer.
This pic shows it better. Changed it to black/white. This dark area will continue to get worse until this part dies off. I do not know what it is. The stat of necrosis? Start's on the surface then degrades that area completely until that area dies off..
