Gorilla Bubble

Hey Guys,

So I decided to put the taller half of the PTGs, and 1 GB plant, under HPS and will go 12/12 tonight. I've still got the remaining shorter group under T5s, and will continue 18/6 with those for now. The taller group averages about 20" and hoping they finish at about 32". They don't seem to me like plants that will stretch much. I don't plan to top the bunch already in flower, and may not with the T5 plants either. In fact, 4-5 of the plants appear to have terminated the main stem growth and are forming more of an irregular top. This seems to have happened at about the 10-12 node. I kind of like this, just don't remember seeing it before.

Wanted to ask about another thing I'm seeing with the fan leaves. I noticed a couple of weeks ago a few of the fans on 2-3 plants had a tendency to curl along the very edges on random leaves, with no particular pattern of occurrence. I may be a bit low on humidity and it may be a matter of VPD. I'm at around 35-40% and 78F on the temp. It's hard to raise the RH this time of year and I'm usually OK at those numbers. The odd thing is most of the other plants have no sign of the same thing happening.

The RH goes up during dark, so 12 hours they enjoy normal levels. It may be something else they don't like that's causing this flip to happen, not too worried about it really. Doesn't seem to be hurting the plant, just wanted to stay on top of things.

These plants are really starting to crank out the stink! I don't recall anything I've grown lately that smelled this strong in veg. I'm planning to upgrade my vent system after what I'm experiencing already. This is from just barely bumping the plants.

Your not the first to mention GB lines stinking in veg.
Your plants look healthy. Glue leaf twist and curl is an identifier in GB lines.

If you top branching will explode. I do reccomend pruning lowers to force more cola flower growth.
Even lollipopping will make the other branches explode.

GB lines are micro hogs but it looks like you got em dialed pretty good.

So I decided in the end to follow good advice and top all 10 plants as TonyG mentioned from the start. I'm seeing good branching started on all these, but not reaching up not quite fast as I would like, so off with their heads! I did this yesterday, and today you can already see the effects. Also used the opportunity to take cuts from the taller group, in flower since last wknd under 400 watt HPS.

Can't wait to get these sexed and finally know what I'll have to work with in flower.

PTG #4...topped, still in veg

I'll post up a few more in a week or so and maybe know the girl/boy story at least on the first group flowering now.

just cracked a 1oz vacpak of GB Bx2 that was harvested in October. Haven't smoked any since around new years and holy hell! I don't know if it is the 8 month cure or what but the stink and flavor are off the charts. 4 tokes are enough to give a guy a real hearty glow and i smoked 1/2 a joint and just melted into the couch.
wife said the house stunk so bad that if i was going to smoke the rest of that bag I best take it out to my shop :)

I've got a big Bx4 going outside this year. Growth is explosive. I totally cleaned out the interior a few days ago and the remaining tops responded with amazing growth. Might have to trim it a bit more in a week or so.
I'm really interested to see how she does outdoors.
First flowers were spotted a few days ago.

Last night we sampled one of the 3 females from my small pheno hunt for a BX4 and I was stunned. As in shocked and so fucking high from this and its not even cured only a few weeks from chop. Thank god for clones. Thanks Tony. Thanks Dan. RIP. Wife is the one who smokes more and she was the first to say this is the bomb. Great sativa but yet a bit of indica relax if that makes sense. Just plain probably the best weed I have grown.

Looking absolutely fabulous guys. Blessed to have the work in such skilled hands.

Thanks for the PM and kind words Stewart. Reports like these validate the work.

We all only have so much time so GB is my contribution to the community.

A discerning eye will see all the spectacular outcross tests and bx-filial versions to check and recheck the work as we go.
Trying to do it right.

New GB coming this winter!

Let's make some beans!

If you see my original male and my GB bx male selections you will see the uncanny resemblance.

This guy blows my mind with his terps!!!

Had a few other interesting males. Grapefruit skunk, spicy skunk, tangerine, other citrus notes... this guy puts a huge grin on my face every time I smell him.

Will be using his twin in female form and several other orange tangerine grapefruit orange dreamsickle types. Culled two for being straight skunky and one for having that blue pen ink smell that pops up in the GB outcross.

Gonna pick a mom for that fem pollen too.

When I smelled this dude I was like damn! Orange bubblelicious! Guess they dont make the flavor anymore but it clicked instantly for me.

He crowns really well with little leaf in the flower clusters.... stoked.

The bx f lines notes a full sib cross of said backcross version.

Used to check for homozygosity, combinability and to coax out recessive combinations.

Kind of a check on the work before progressing.
They are early examples of what the final homozygous line will look like.

So you took two siblings from the GB bx1 and crossed them to each other if I'm not mistak sorry if im causing any confusion.

Thanks for the kind words. The great lakes haze is tremendously over looked. Solid sssdh phenos that finish in 10 weeks often and has increased flower density and resin production. The smoke has been described as magical. Funny thing is every pack has found the right hands!
