Syd I chopped her today. She was cut at soil level. Not a tall girl at all. I am happy with her all the same. I have never had a plant that was all bud before. I started her in flowering at about 8" tall. I cut off 3 large fan leaves and the sugar leaves I pruned off. Wouldn't have made a good joint.:thank you: Peace

Hi Dawn Patrol,

I'm very sorry to catch up so late on this one. :(

The plant on the left is clearly a more Malawi pheno and could be harvested 1-2 weeks after the pics were taken.

Second and third ones are clearly very Thai phenos.
One super tall, lanky, slow flowering and ultra tropical thai pheno.
The GT thai dominant pheno on the right is more compact and seems to flower faster. but it's also very thai.

Did you manage to finish the 'thais' phenos ? If so, how it was their development and outcome ?

Any idea when I should harvest these?

Three different phenos I believe, one fast finsher, one obviously going to take much longer and one somewhere in the middle

Impressive Golden Tiger zachrockbadenof,

I cannot appreciate properly the maturation and flowering traits of your Golden Tiger in the pic, but looks like she had a great flowering and produced a lot :) Great job!

After your initial dissapointment with Golden Tiger, i sent you GT fem seeds from my GT favourite fem line, to make sure you will really experience the best side from this great tropical sativa hybrid ;) I'm glad you have enjoyed this GT batch.

View Image hey syd... our GT is now at 85days.. our past grows of GT we let go upto 148days, which I guess was tooo long, but she kept throwing out new pistils .. this time we will pick at 100/110days ..here is todays pic...hope it will upload...

hey tang... I found an old GT cob from at least 1year ago in the bottom of a bottle I was going to rinse out... smoked 1/2 of it last nite.... real smooth smoke, and a really nice 2+hr high (not stone)... it reminded me of weed from yesteryear where u got high... unlike 99.9pct of todays hybrid smoke which gets u stone...
I like a lot...:tiphat::tiphat:

Hi jaded1,

Wow! What a beautiful reddish GT pheno! :)
It's, without any doubt, highly related to the red Hmong thai male used in the first breeding steps of this hybrid. But more tamed, resinous and evil. Damn, i would love to try some of that flowers

I'm glad you are also finding good medicinal properties in some of your Golden Tigers, i always had the feeling that the Malawi's powerful and plentiful cannabinoids have tons of potential for medical uses, despite it's extreme psychoactivity.

Thank you very much for sharing your GT experience with us!

Not a good pic of my gt,has just been put into jars.Damn frosty girl for a nld,has a sweet pineapple smell with some earthy and spicy notes to her.Cant wait to try her!View Image

Last of my 3.smells of menthol, lemon and curry powder

Nice scoot!I got to agree with you on the pain relieving effects of GT.Plant 2 of mine is great for spinal damage/arthritis pain, find myself totally forgetting about the pain for a good hr after smoking her

Hi Syd Barrett,

Thanks for sharing your GT with us too!
Your pheno looks a lot like the first Golden Tiger release from the standard line, that was mainly Old Malawi Killer and Hmong Thai.

Sorry to hear you had to fight against powder mildew in late flowering, anyway she was close to maturation in your latest pics, i would let her mature 1-2 weeks more, but only if pm doesn't continue to expand.

Please, let us know how was the final harvest and opinion of the outcome. Thanks!

Weather is getting very cold and the issues with PM returned...It shows on some leaves that is not easy to cover with milk...Tomorrow I'll spray with some H2O2 solution.I took a popcorn bud to have a test drive, just in case...

Hi deepwaterdude,

I'm glad to see you are also testing our Golden Tiger :) Thanks!

It's still too early to identify your pheno regarding flowering times, but it doesn't look like a tamed early flowering Malawi pheno, probably it will be a more balanced Malawi/Thais pheno of quite long flowering (at least 13 weeks months)
We will be able to identify more things when she is more into flowering.

This is a super wispy GT from clone in 3 gal coco mix with floranova bloom and liquid koolbloom. She's under 430MH with a beefy panama clone. If anyone's had this pheno, how long did you go with it? Thanks! dwd

Hi 2scoot,

I'm very glad you are finding desirable medicinal properties and psychedelia in your GT! :)

Thank you very much for sharing your GT smoking experiences with us!

GT - went 16 weeks of 11/13. Around 2 months cured at this point and just a great all rounder, makes everything better!

As a side note; I'm seeing many medical benefits not just from GT but also my Malawi. Yesterday morning the wife and I smoked and then went for a hike in the woods, felt like I was walking on clouds and the colors were brilliant, smells were much more pronounced too. But the area that it helped was the muscle aches and pains, there were none.
This is an important aspect for me because I'm a powerlifter and I always have those few joint or muscle issues - plus I'm no spring chicken any longer!View Image View Image . Same with my wife, she's a Yoga instructor and she too is digging on the pain relief that GT provides.

Hi fabsema,

A really beautiful Golden Tiger you have there (mainnly New Malawi Killer pheno but also with thai influence) ;) And quite well developed after only 8 weeks of flowering. She looks promising for sure.

Wish the other sativas are doing good as well! :) Best regards

In her 8th week. She is the slowest of ph x Malawi, panama haze, zamaldelica but she has resin on her stem.

Hi sativa lover,

Unfortunately, latest outdoor Golden Tiger fem reproduction has produced very little amount of seeds .... so Golden Tiger fem is back in stock at our website:

http://www.aceseeds.org/en/golden-tiger-fem.html

But we don't expect that the stock will last much as there's usually big demand of this strain and format.
Hopefully, the more interested growers on this strain/format are aware of it, and still one time to get some for the outdoor season.

On the other hand, there are still good amounts of Golden Tiger standard (regular) stock available (and very cheap!).

As i commented not long ago, newer Golden Tiger standard release has been bred following a genetic recipe very similar to the successful feminized version:

http://www.aceseeds.org/en/goldentigerstd.html

Dubi, do you have an ETA when Golden Tiger FEM will be back in stock on your website?

Hi dubi! Thanks for the pheno info !
Any idea about only 3 pointed leaves in flowering?
I took her 11 days after my last picture(12th december),sadly no harvest pics...
Very nice smoke, energetic and clear. If you smoke a second one ,it hits stronger(no ceiling). This was my second golden tiger.Impressive vigour and beauty...I haven't found still a pheno with the overpowering potency I was looking for,but I know I should re estimate after a long cure.(and try to grow her in better conditions of course :) )

Hi Dawn Patrol,

I'm very sorry to catch up so late on this one. :(

No problem my friend, I know you are busy breeding and making more awesome seeds for us all to grow!

The plant on the left is clearly a more Malawi pheno and could be harvested 1-2 weeks after the pics were taken.

Second and third ones are clearly very Thai phenos.
One super tall, lanky, slow flowering and ultra tropical thai pheno.

Did you manage to finish the 'thais' phenos ? If so, how it was their development and outcome ?

The Malwai leaner I chopped at 70 days and it was too long.

The shorter thai leaner went to 85 days and had a serious spider mite infestation so I never sampled it, just put it in the extraction pile.

The tallest went over 100 days if I remember correctly. Nothing spectacular about it but that was mainly my fault. We had a very warm November and December and the soil mix I made did not suit sativas, so yield, flavor and aroma suffered for it.

I do have 5-6 seeds left and will try them again in the fall. Now that I have experience with your genetics I understand how important proper soil amendments are and what I did wrong this past fall.

Can't wait to try them again!

Since everyone else is showing off their Tigers, thought I would join the party. Grown from a fem seed with package dated 2015.
So far, about 19 days under 11/13

Dubi, any observations you would like to share?
