last time I was in Chiang Rai it was sleepy as fuck, the kind of place you might ned to start frightening people with your Thai (I speak for myself lol)

It might be fun to hit some of the local Hmong villages. I had little joy West of there in Thaton, where I kept on finding Akka, who weren't much use - not that I was really trying - I was having too much fun driving around on my bike like a tosser - totty on the back, wanker shades, Chang in one hand, girl in the other lol

Yes, it is a bit sleepy here, but I have been in Thailand for about 12 years now, have lived just about everywhere in Thailand and I am now a single parent taking care of my 4 year old daughter on my own, so for her Chiang Rai is perfect as we have a very large piece of land for her to play around on, something that would be very hard to find in BKK or elsewhere.

But the people here are a bit strange (that typical hick farmer) and very reserved. And as I said before cannot find my neccessary needs very easily here. I have been driving down to Chiang Mai once every couple of weeks to score, but now this is starting to get on my nerves as well as the drive is a couple/three hours through the mountains.
I am certain it is here, but just not sure where to go and find. Today I stopped a Thai guy that had ganja stickers all over his bike and helmet and asked him, but he just said no - can't help you! Very frustrating.
