At your stoniest, an oz takes you how long to go thru? And you have how many of them between now and the next harvest? Snoop would struggle to get thru that weight. Well, maybe not. That's probably a weekend for him .

You can be very proud of what you've accomplished, that weight is nothing to sneeze at. My first harvest was a quarter pound of bunkweed.

I didn't mention it much here.... but i did have to fight the BIO SLIME for 3 weeks.... that's why they stalled and didn't finish on time.... that BIO SLIME is some nasty shit.... and it smells like ass..... nasty ass bog water..... its ok though i figured that out and have solved that problem....

'Splain plz.

Rez got innoculated with uggies? manifold? pots?

Cause? Cure? H2O2?

Put that steamroller down. Youse got responsibilities now. Be the teacher.

the best upgrade you can get is knowledge...its all here somewhere on the site...

Ay, there's the rub. It's all over the place. Trying to bring all the scattered pearls of real wisdom into a retrievable body of information is like defragging a hard drive

I agree. And so does your passing on respect to your teachers and mentor. I'm sure he appreciates it greatly. People generally like to know they make a difference to others. Good on you. That's how it should be done imo.

Yea I had a nasty case of BIO SLIME...... its the slimy stuff that grows in water and covers you pumps..... its a very common problem with HYDROPONIC Systems......... CAUSE: Microscopic life forms that are all around us 24 hours a day...... Bio Slime is basically a mixture of all kinds of things..... like Dead micro organisms, Bacteria, dust, and organic materials and many other things that collect around damp areas all over the world....... The slime is a living thing..... it grows..... It is why a swamp smells like a swamp..... Its that nasty blackish Green shit that's in all our pumps lines Drip Rings pots and discharged nutrient solution.... every one that grows will at some point develop it to a certain degree...... I have had it, Dan has been in combat with it forever in his cloner..... Smoking Joe has Had it...... its all over the damn place...... but its not here not any more.....

Look back in this thread around week 6 you will see that my plants stalled out..... and i was up until that point FING KILLING IT...... its when the tips got burned remember.... Dan noticed it for me at first....that stall..... first the tips burned and every one noticed that.... then the plants just slowed way down..... and stopped developing..... the burn and stall were the BIO SLIME in action.... I never went above 1.4 ec.... and that should not have burned the tips on my GG4 they were so healthy and under a Gavita pumping out 1150w of power...... they should have taken off blown the hell up...and there metabolism should have been off the damn charts.......

We all jumped to the conclusion that it was lock out over being fed to strong.... WE were all right and a little wrong..... I wasn't convinced that i had harmed the plants by over feeding them... But i did cut the feeds back and nothing changed..... this made me somewhat more confident that i didn't cause the problem.... But now i had to fix it....... and i did just that.....

See i was feeding 1.4 ec of perfectly mixed and ph solution. I never did flush the plants not once. In a dtw especially my high pressure dtw that can and will like clockwork push each pot 1/4 gallon of solution every 2 hours lights on, should be flushing all the nasty shit out of the pots completely 6 time a day....Right.... that's why i built it...... DTW is the shit..... The safest hydro system for plants.....

Well it wasn't working out.... I had to do something......

So i fired off a bowl and thought about it.... I live in a farming community and have used the local AG Extension office several times for my land and garden.... So i went and had a chat with them about my hydroponic tomatoes......

Very interesting stuff...... they put me in contact with the AG department for Florida State University..... and this is where it gets good.......

So i called a guy at the college.... he had me take some water samples in small containers, one ro and one my filtered tap..... then i sat them down on my mixing table next to the res like he ask me to do with the lids off...... They sat for a week.....Then i called him back, and he had me take two more fresh samples and cap them immediately... I also took a section of pvc pipe and cut a sharp angle on one end, then pushed it into one of the pots all the way to the bottom of the pot twisting the pvc so it would cut roots clean, and pulled out a sample of my coco and roots..... then filled the hole with fresh coco.... All of that was overnight-ed to the AG Department... they wanted to run some lab test.... and send half of the samples off to another Lab to verify there results......

So two days later That guy from the AG department called and sent me an email with the results..... Inanimate Bio Slime was the results from both test........ So i was like WHAT!!!!!!

At this point i had successfully identified the problem..... But that's it..... Now comes some research on my part...... each lab test included a list of products that might solve the problem...... Chlorine and H2O2 were in both list and to be effective against the Slime i had the levels would have been toxic to the plants.....So i kept going over threads and the lab test all night.... the list of products were arranged by preference of the lab... and we have all herd of all the different products like HYDROZIME, RES CLEAR, so on and so fourth right.... at the top of both list was a product called Z7 by Flying Skull Plant Products.....

So i called them up, Hell I was already flushing the plants by this point... After about 20 minutes of being bounced around they stuck me on the phone with a BIO TECH CHEMIST in the products development labs........ After a 45 minute discussion this is what i learned about BIO SLIME..... When it builds up on pumps lines and all the rest of you're equipment its not much of a problem outside looking bad...... and maybe swinging some of your readings slightly....

The real problem with the BIO Slime happens inside your pots...... it reduces the bio availability of nutrients, it slows beneficial bacteria by up to 75%, It causes root rot and prevent the air feeder roots from taking up oxygen...... the nasty part you can see holds Onto spent nutrient salts and other elements that have fallen out of suspension... it can alter the ph of the pots slightly causing other problems to show up...... BIO SLIME chokes the life out of plants......

So Z7 to the rescue.... It is a two part enzyme.... and the stuff literally eats BIO Slime.... It will break it up and hold all that nasty stuff in suspension and allow it to be flushed safely away from the plants.... Yes my DTW is back in business..... Im going to give you some very real numbers here to think about...... all of my plants are fed by there own hydro halo but drain into the same tray that runoff is then pumped out.... by the time i got my Z7 i had been flushing for two weeks.... my runoff numbers were steady at 55 ppm .5 scale.... i mixed the z7 at .5 mills per gallon and fed again...... 55 ppm..... the next morning i fed and the ppm was well over 400....... by the time i got home that afternoon all the runoff was 15 ppm and the plants took off and finally got there swell on...... they literally yellowed out in two days...... the plants finished fine...... three weeks late........
