With DIY roll around trays 5 x 5 that Gavitas can handle the footprint as well as depth penetration as deep into canopy as needed , since room`s already built just build em to fit next to each other for the 14.5 ' length instead of 15'....now....

The reason tents do so well is due to all the reflective surface in the rooms as well as the 5' width you can hang refectix shower curtains to help bounce lumens back toward the plants at 5 instead of 6.5 and being lost in the shadows and gone forever....

I`ve always preached everything not green to be covered in reflectix but shit falls thru the cracks over the yrs and folks don`t see as a rule.... regardless.....

50 watts per sq ft has worked for dialed results over the yrs even though I did well with 34 watts per back in the day with big plants , but.....

Yields will not increase.....only quality of product .....guaranteed....anyways.....

It only gets better Aspen , and horizontal grows have limitations like vertical setups do....

All about dialage and remembering what went wrong last time to keep it from happenin again......then this shit gets easy and runs itself.....

Harvey is what it is.....get better next run.....we know you can......You could do a LOT worse than follow Dans lead....I`ve always hung bare bulbs vertical for wall canopy instead of floor setups with horizontal reflectors........

Peace....DHF.....:ying:.....

Thanks for that great post DHF..... I'm going to continue..... Till that room is running on autopilot.... Thanks for that advise.....

Aspenou, if you are going to buy bubble bags, buy the all mesh bags, they save soooo much time, and sore arms and back. They drain in seconds, the canvas ones take forever to drain. 20 gallon 8 bag set for like 80 bucks on amazon. I think the 5 gallon set was like 40 or 50 bucks

I guess you get a workout then. I have a set of canvas bags, but I makes big batches of bubble. Definitely worth it.plus I got a bum shoulder so I feel it for a few days with the canvas bags.

So anyone ever use ORCA film? its suppose to be the most reflective surface available?.... hummmmm well back to researching......

I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

I use ORCA film and it is highly reflective, way better than panda film, and produces a nicely diffuse light.

If you ever touched a peice of tyvek house wrap, it is the same structure. Super durable/washable. Costs more than panda but will outlast it many times over.:2cents:

Orca`s a woven /spun product like Tyvek housewrap as Caljim just told us.....but damned if I can see how it`s more reflective and diffuse than Reflectix I used over 20 + yrs , but the scientific studies show Orca and even Prodex to do a better job than my old go to....

I will say this , Reflectix is foil covered bubblewrapped insulation and provides an R factor to help control environment in each room , and with bare bulbs and that shit on all walls and ceilings with 10 million lil reflective bubbles blastin light up down and all around back toward the middles of the rooms , if I came outta retirement today I know what I`d be usin....but horizontal grows ?....

Paint your floors with ultra flat white bathroom mildewcidal paint and do the walls in your choice of the 3 mentioned above 1/2 the way up maybe lil more with DE fixtures that sit higher in the grow areas , but above the level of the sideways and down footprint of the reflectors , there`s absolutely no reason for reflective material where there is no light being used for foliage growth.....that said....

With all reflective surfaces , keep em wiped down with vinegar and water solution to sterilize and not bleach that can eat into the materials over the long run....

I moved locations every yr so I always tossed the old shit and replaced it with new and it`s good for a yr and looks brand new when torn out.....Prodex costs more and Orca even moreso , but trust me....

Whatever you choose of the 3 , guaranteed results will help the sides and perimeters of your light`s reflector footprint and create a bigger footpint for light that would be lost but bounces right back at the plants instead ftw....anyways....

Nuff outta my old ass this day....I`m goin fishin.....ya`ll come.....Dans....:moon:...

Peace.....DHF....:ying:...

thanks guys...... looks like ill go with the Orca..... but i might double line the walls.... and use reflectix under the Orca to still have that r factor and get the most bang for my AC..... probably over kill but who dosen't like some over kill sometimes.....

True...one or the other, but foam board under the Orca if your looking for R value. In the end, either one is better than panda if your going to be in the same spot for more than a few cycles.

DHF...... now on to the real problem I'm currently having..... My room is an odd shape..... for a grow room..... @ 14 foot wide and 6.5 feet deep..... i can easily add 2 Gavitas and two more tables..... no problem....... with an mini split ac and dehumidifier..... add some co2 and the side curtains you mentioned to contain the light and its done i have that room designed currently....... I added those curtains to my drawings last night for a visual of what it would look like last night....and it looks good.....
So here is my Issue with doing that..... i want a perpetual grow..... so i can add plants and harvest plants every two weeks..... Im thinking about 3x6 drain trays four of them on casters so i can role them out and work the tables as needed...... but for the life of me i cant figure out how to light the damn room..... to make this happen..... a Gavita only throws a 4x5 light pattern..... so some supplemental lighting is necessary..... I can move the wall out about a foot and a half making the room 8x14...... that's what i might have to do..... and that's a lot of work....

that foam board would work two for the r value.... for sure I was just thinking that the refletix gives an added bonus..... IR devices cant see through it..... :)

4x5 pattern is pretty small for a gavita, I think that with orca you should be able to to light the 6.5 depth with a gavita, 3 gavitas should rock that area. If you contact gavita with the room size they will help configure the room. What ever you do I am sure you will crush it.
