GIRL's GOT SKILLS

Don't take the criticisms personally. Your grow was better than most I've seen and most of mine - let alone for a first attempt. The only tweaks you need to make are based on knowledge that can only come from actually doing it. You've gotten to a level where you should be evaluating suggestions in the context of your experience, not as absolutes coming from much more skilled growers. As an example, my bottom screen has 3 inch openings. If I pulled a bud through each, they'd be packed like sardines at harvest. My top screen has 4 inch openings for that reason.

Definitely no. Your grow does not make you look fat. ;)

Mine is set up the same way with 4 inch holes in the top layer.....and 3 inch holes in the bottom....
I do evaluate all suggestions based on my experience and the are no absoults in growing..... I have answered that very same question several times.... So has about 4 other people in this thread... So why didn't you fill that scrog??? It is in fact the number one question I have been ask.... And it has been suggested to me many many times...... It's clear people who ask that one question right off the bat have not read 1/2 of this thread....... Anyone should be able to follow this thread with all the advise contained here and make a decent run and have some good bud but they still have to do there homework....... I listen to my Mentor because he has never once lead me astray in all this time...... He has one of the nicest Coco setups around.... And yes Dan is still teaching me like in that post yesterday..... But I still have to do the home work... You know and make the final Decision..... On what I'm going to do...... And i make plenty of those all on my own.....
I don't think it's to much to ask that people read... Before they have rambled off on the same question that's been answered by not fewer than 5 people........

when vegging & flowering are done in 2 different rooms , a true scrog is impossible . the nets at this point are more for bud support & to be able to move the longer branches around to try & keep an even canopy .
i'd say 80% of the nets i see being used recently aren't for scrog .... they're for bud support more than anything . it beats the shit outa stakes & plant clips ! or even tomato cages .

Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks D.

No shit I tried it and shit didn't work....dan how bad does super cropping in flower hurt the yield? Like after the stretch let's say the first 25 days of flower and yup gotta super crop

that really depends on the strain Windy , some can take a good snap & go on like nothing happened , & some it will slow down the growth for days & really hurt the budset .
i've gotten to the point that i don't snap branches anymore unless i have no choice . i just LST them under the net so that they come up in another spot . the net holds them down enough that they grow horizontilaly except for the very top , that will curve up & grow vertically . the trick is to leave enough of the top out so that the canopy is even with the shorter branches that didn't need to be bent over .

I said I wasn't referring to your grow, it was just general discussion within your thread. I've never done a scrog and you actually motivated me to try my first scrog, which is currently vegging now. I wanted more clarification on filling the screen from some of the other skilled growers in your thread. I figured it was on topic since Dan and others had posted some pics. Pardon me.

Sorry watts I wasn't trying to single anyone out its just annoying when that comes up in the thread I get flooded with pm all asking the same question..... It's annoying to answer every one of those request when the info is somewhere here..... You know.... You are always welcome. And I appreciate you post.... Thank-you....:huggg::tiphat:

Ok now I have herd about enough of me not filling the scrog net for the last time....... This is a 4x4 scrog with 225 holes that are 3x3....... If you would take the time to read and look in my album and by all means please do so.... You will see a completely full screen... And 9 inches off the damn traditional scrog. My plants are trained to the net.... And that is a traditional way of doing a scrog... I want to see any one on icmag fill 225 holes in a scrog in a brand new system.......that I have never used...... With plants they have never flowered....in a room that has never seen a living organism .. On there very first flower run......with 6 plants.........

There is no newby bulshit in this garden.... It has been done to a plain.. by design.... Half of the tops are laying down on the first level of the scrog because I overlaced them training them to the net to aggressively and many of them are laced together.... Did I make a mistake yes..... It by no means has been the perfect grow I was hoping for... But I simply do not possess the skill to train every plant with 35.5 top cola branches ........ That's what it would take to fill this scrog with a stem in every hole...... I have posted around 300 Pictures of this grow.... I can't be more transparent than that....please go back in this thread and read it... It is a traditional scrog and I used that scrog to train just over 3 feet out of these plants...... I have height limitation.... As it is.... Looking back over my notes... A total of 46 holes on the first layer of the scrog do not have stems in them......... AND THIS IS MY VERY FIRST RUN.....PEACE:tiphat:

lol calm down girl ! you better get used to stupid questions if your going to have a grow thread going . people very rarely read the thread & just comment or ask questions on 1 post when the answer was given previously a dozen times .
look at all the gg4 threads ..... its the same damn questions & comments over & over & over again lol

why do you think i don't have my own grow thread going ????

Hey aspen... why didnt you fill the scrog all the way up?
Just kidding!!
Dont kick me!!
I enjoyed lurking, look forward to the next!!
I use a net, like dan says mostly for support. I have 2 tents perpetual, so hard for me to do a scrog.
Cheers Rocky

it was a joke.

I pick up whatever I can from you. A problem with the author search function is it only goes back 500 posts.

a problem with me trying to use the author search function: A.D.D.

I get started on a thread, like 2 light grow rooms, then I see something interesting and look up threads on it, or click a link to a product or whatever, then I see something else to look up and next thing you know, i'm so far down the rabbit hole, I have no idea where I started out.

Dazed and confused at times,

Ona

I don't do threads either, like Dan said the questions get totally out of hand and no one hardly reads them, they just pop in and ask a question like where can I get a cut ? or seeds, its a pita,

I'm going to stick with it Josey.... Who knows maybe I will actually help someone one day with this monster that most will never read.......

The SCROG...
I'm proud of that damn thing..... I got 12 PM's about just how to do it from people.... Happens every time it is mentioned....... Not all of them were nice..to say the least.... Not one of them take the time to notice..... It's just not like any other...... Have you in all your years seen a scrog that you can literally thread through you're canopy? You can then tension it to your liking, If useing it for support you can put about 3 inches of slack in it to ease tucking.... Like Dan does... Then slowly add tension to the scrog as the plants grow...... Easly and gently spreading the canopy..... You can untie the end of the cord at harvest and unthread the scrog simply sliding it out of the canopy.... Or do the same thing mid flower to make adjustments to the plants without tearing up either the scrog or the plants... Have you ever wanted or needed to pull a plant out of a scrog for any reason? Plant problem or over crowding...without tearing it up. Or on the other hand you can tension the scrog tight as a drum.... And train the plants to it any way you see fit... And have a traditional scrog..... And both layers are just that versital... You can also like I have done.... Have 3 inch grid pattern on the bottom.... And a 4 inch pattern on the top to spread the canopy and increase AIR and LIGHT penetrating the canopy....
In all my super lurking I haven't seen one quit like it..... And honestly I haven't fine tuned my skills enough to use my Scrog to its fullest potential.....
They never notice any of that good stuff about my Scrog.... Only that the top layer is not full......... It gets somewhat frustrating... But it's all good brother... GIRLS GOT THIS...LOL.... They kinda miss the point of the whole thing so I'm no longer going to comment on any post about my Scrog.... But I'm damn sure going to keep rocking it....... Ok bitch session over hehehe
