she'll get it in time ..... sounds like she just needs to calm down a bit before trying to grasp it ..... the V&B is easy as hell to dose ! & i don't think your adding to many other additives .
teach her to read the meters & the rest is just add a little at a time till you get it where you want it . write out a schedule for her with PH & EC levels that she has to get to .....

Good thing you got such a great friend to help out.I have never found a helper like that, they always bail when the fun goes away. When they don't need weed they stop showing up.

thats one good thing about my style, babysitters just gotta keep it wet. well thats all i have to do too... its nice to know i can leave town for a week or so here and there. its hard to mess up. maybe consider keeping your moms in soil?

giving that a very hard thought... but this is already all set up... so until l i can...... I'm not asking to much of the people that are helping me......and at the moment i can save most of them... just by going with what I'm comfortable with but i have been thinking about that...

of course, just pointing out as you know already that its worth consideration. some ocean forest and a couple cups of eco scraps or similar all in one organic is super easy and cheap. for 30$ you could have a pretty foolproof home for 2 moms for a couple months.

Aspen, I hope youre feeling a bit better now and get back to doing what we all love as soon as possible.

Dan,

So my hydro shop used to sell these pre-made "electrical boards". They had an inspector come in for an unrelated electrical issue in the building, notice these boards, and confiscated them and threatened with a $1m fine. So needless to say they no longer sell them.

This timer is the heart of the set up -

https://www.amazon.ca/Intermatic-T104-208-277-Volt-Mechanical-Switch/dp/B000BQOX88

So what they had is a 240 dryer cord feeding the timer. Easy enough.

From the timer, they then had 8 standard 120v outlets, that ran off 240v to plug ballasts into.

They also had 4 regular 120v outlets, running 120v for fans, ect.. (not sure if these bypassed the timer, would make more sense that way)

I dont really care about the 120v outlets, just the timer able to power 5400w. 4x 1000 and 2x 600.

I could run either a 30A or 40A 240v from the panel to the room with a dryer plug. Then just plug in the timer.

What I am unsure about is how to set up the timer so I can plug my standard digi ballasts into regular 120 style outlets.

I googled for HOURS trying to find a schematic for this, but came up empty handed. I think my issue is not knowing the correct electrical jargon to get where I wanted.

They tell me you are the man for electrical, so hoping you can help, and I explained well enough for this to make sense!

Side question for everyone here - When I was at the hydro shop, they had DE conversion kits with phillips bulb for $280 canadian, thoughts? Basically just plug into your regular ballast. Keep in mind hydro gear here is a lot more expensive and we have trouble getting the same brands you guys do, unless we order and import form the states. Any one have experience with these conversion kits? I cant seem to find a comparison online to learn a bit more about them.

So I had a good visit today from the surgeon that fixed me up.... Man he is way cooler than my doctor..... He brought me a custom rehab schedule, hour of rest a day hours of activities, foods and calories he made it for me.... Isn't that Awesome, sleep everything tuned to my metabolism.... His wife is a nutritionist and they put this together based on all my medical records and needs, list if vitamins and all..... Says if I stick to his plan I'll heal about 30% faster.... But I'm not going to push anything guys I promise.... That was good news and a fair trade for an ounce of bud...... It's all the exersize and swimming to strengthen my core back up.... So I'll start to swim in a week... It's alot of information.. but I'm sure it may shave off some time I would otherwise be flat on my back... It even includs daily yoga at the end of next week....

yep, getting old sucks...it takes much longer to heal up,things you would have brushed off in years past suddenly become hurtful far out of proportion to the actual injury...every wreck seems to add one more lingering ache now...

sound like you have a good plan laid out for you though...getting moving again is key and all that good nutrition stuff...

Yea its alot of hydro thearpy and that suits me fine... And It's funny but aparently we were alone in the room for a minute and I gave him a sealed Doob Tube with 2 machine rolled joints in it.... Minutes before the surgery..... So they made this schedule.... He is just a cool guy his wife is a young hippy chick so new friends..... Thanks GG4.... Josey she's still winning people over... I'm just glad to see that its not all laying around all the time my Back is locked up so the movement is limited... Really don't know what I would do without the help I have around me.... Both here and at home.... I think everyone should know how much I appreciate that.... Soon to be a year older.... But I'm viewing this as a slow down... The Knee was like that.... Never an issue then bam. Broken and 2 surgeon's later it's right..... But it took a few months.... To be 100%. And still bothers me from time to time...... Yea older sucks...... But I can say with age comes wisdom..... Knowledge is priceless..... But it dose come at a cost......

the ballast will recognize the voltage coming into it . the only difference between a 220 volt cord & a 110 volt cord that goes to the ballast , is the male plug .
i built a few boards myself & instead of buying the 220 outlets & new cords for the ballast , i just used 20 amp 110 volt recepticles to get my 220 to the ballast . 220 is 2 hot legs & a ground ... 110 volts is one hot leg , a neutral (white wire) & a ground . to get 220 on the outlet , take the white wire off the neutral bar & put it on a 220 volt double pole breaker with the black wire.
& i just used the 110 volt cords that came with the ballasts . got bitched at for it from a few people here .... because its not really the safest way to do it ! if you accidently plug a fan , pump or any other 110 volt device into that outlet with 220 going to it .... you burn it up instantly lol
but i've done it because i built it , know it , & am the only one who will ever plug something into it .....
i do mark the box that holds the 220/110 outlets 220 volts

heres one to show you .....

but yeah , like i said .... the ballast will recognize the voltage coming in on the cord as 220 volts , no matter which cord is being used .

NOT the safest way !!!! but it does work !

go into this thread & ask Hammer , rives or pretty much anybody there your question about the DE kits . Hammers tested a shitton of them

Thanks! Thats exactly what I am after. Nobody else should be plugging anything in because no one else should even know exists haha. Well I hope not anyways!

So doing more and more research, I think I am showing my age here and thinking of doing it a bit old school. Would something like this work just as well? http://growershouse.com/blueprint-hid-hub-8-site-hub-8

Seems like what I'm after with out all the messing around. All these new controllers and such, what an age to be alive in.

Do you have a link to that thread for DE conversion? Dont think linked up properly in your last post.
