That's not exactly what I'm doing. I don't call it hush money to her. I mearly keep her involved in my hobby. And when someone has a stake or ownership, it stifles critiques. Oh, and I've been married 17 years to the same woman.

When our medical law passed we both joined the local compassion club. When I decided to grow, she was involved. She helps our patients with dr appointments and whatnot.

What my point is, keep your spouse involved works better than not.

With one girlfriend I made the mistake of not telling her how important my plants were so it always seemed like a battle but with successive ones, I make sure to be very clear that my plants are meaningful to me. They are more than just 'pot plants', still gonna get some kind of shit for spending tons of time with them but that's just because she just wants some attention/lovin' (all about the balance).
