Abstract

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an incapacitating syndrome that follows a traumatic experience. Predator exposure promotes long-lasting anxiogenic effect in rodents, an effect related to symptoms found in PTSD patients. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychotomimetic component of Cannabis sativa with anxiolytic effects. The present study investigated the anti-anxiety actions of CBD administration in a model of PTSD. Male Wistar rats exposed to a predator (cat) received, 1 h later, singled or repeated i.p. administration of vehicle or CBD. Seven days after the stress animals were submitted to the elevated plus maze. To investigate the involvement of 5HT1A receptors in CBD effects animals were pre-treated with WAY100635, a 5HT1A receptor antagonist. To explore possible neurobiological mechanisms involved in these effects, 5HT1A receptor mRNA and BDNF protein expression were measured in the hippocampus, frontal cortex, amygdaloid complex and dorsal periaqueductal gray. Repeated administration of CBD prevented long-lasting anxiogenic effects promoted by a single predator exposure. Pretreatment with WAY100635 attenuated CBD effects. Seven days after predator exposure 5HT1A mRNA expression was up regulated in the frontal cortex and hippocampus. CBD and paroxetine failed to prevent this effect. No change in BDNF expression was found. In conclusion, predator exposure promotes long-lasting up-regulation of 5HT1A receptor gene expression in the hippocampus and frontal cortex. Repeated CBD administration prevents the long-lasting anxiogenic effects observed after predator exposure probably by facilitating 5HT1A receptors neurotransmission. Our results suggest that CBD has beneficial potential for PTSD treatment and that 5HT1A receptors could be a therapeutic target in this disorder.

I find it funny that some people clearly didn't even watch the video

many many times they talk about the just F1, the F1xDurban, they even show buds of F1 X Durban, and say this isn't just Durban, it's F1 X Durban

yes it is a bit confusing, but it is also pretty damn clear

People should put their money where their mouth is.............send some small samples to some credible people with med cards or whatever.................have them test the shit..........or have someone take some samples to some blind taste testers. I mean............its fuckin weed lol......just smoke it and see if its better.

Unless its too expensive to send out some samples.............for the record......i dont want anything to do with it. Just putting that out there. No one is gonna clone ur dried buds so you guys got nothing to fear really except the truth.

Here we go again..... I predict this thread being locked up in the near future.... I dont really even get what yall argueing about.
Storm Shadow- Thats great that you have some genetics your working with that you are very proud of. BUT.... What the hell does it have to do with GSC??? This is a cookies thread, not a cbd thread, not a rare ancient thread.

Honestly dude??? Your gonna get this thread shutdown. Seriously have you yet to smoke the real cookies? You have been pretty stoked on talking shit on it for the past year.
Have you had any test done on your iranian genetics???
Im wondering how high the CBD is.... I have a cut that recently tested at 18%cbd, i should start randomly posting about it in all kinds of threads that are about other strains.
26-28% thc is crazy, and beyond the norm. But not unheard of. the strain ADubb recently just tested at 28.7% thc 1.4%cbd
for reference valley og 22%thc1%cbd, tahoe 23%thc, bty 24%thc
i can definitely see a well grown batch of ogkb's cookies testing in the 26-28 range

The high a plant gives you really doesnt just depend on thc anyway. Ive had high thc plants that were cool, but then I got FUCKED UP off one that said it was 7%. It has a lot to do with the terpenes n shit.
Also I have a GIGANTIC dick. Bigger then anyone elses. Seriously, lots a women cant take it, Ive busted many an ovary.

Nobody cares about your Iranian genetics, if that's even what they are. Just another monkey swinging on a vine. Watch out everyone...here comes storm shadow. So deep, dark, and mysterious. Too cool for all of us. Once again. This is a cookies thread. So since you don't grow it, smoke it, or care about it. Why not just go away? Is your life that sad?

I have to disagree with this assumption of Krunch. Have met, hung out, and smoked his wares. Man does know what he's doing and it comes through in his product. And not a dirt bag at all. Maybe one of those dust bunnies, but certainly not a dirt bag by any stretch.

Actually ALL genetics are millions of years old to be more exact. But keep going; you sound REALLY smart.

Well since you insist ...

<H3>Analysis of single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in cannabis

To further examine the genetic variation in C. sativa, we estimated the frequency of SNVs in four taxa. In addition to PK and 'Finola', our analysis included the Illumina reads we generated from the hemp cultivar 'USO-31', as well as the reads from the marijuana strain Chemdawg, which were released by Medical Genomics, LLC [41] while this manuscript was in preparation. 'USO-31' is a tall, monoecious fibre hemp cultivar developed in the former Soviet Union that contains very low or undetectable levels of cannabinoids [42]. Our resequencing of 'USO-31' was similar to that of 'Finola' (Illumina 100 nt paired-end reads, 200 and 500 bp inserts, at approximately 16× coverage of the estimated 820 Mb genome). We aligned individual Illumina reads to the PK reference genome, and identified variant bases that qualify as SNVs (see the Methods section for further details). We also quantified the degree of heterozygosity within single genomes. Overall, PK, Chemdawg, 'Finola' and 'USO-31' have comparable rates of heterozygosity (0.20%, 0.26%, 0.25%, and 0.18%, respectively). The lower rate of heterozygosity in 'USO-31', which is monoecious, is presumably due to self-pollination.
The rate of occurrence of SNVs between any two strains ranged from 0.38% (PK versus Chemdawg) to 0.64% (Chemdawg versus 'Finola'). A neighbor-joining tree constructed using the concatenated polymorphic sequences from each of the strains is shown in Figure Figure5,5, and supports the expected pedigree of the two hemp cultivars, which are likely to have been bred using germplasm from North Central Asia. Although the ancestry of PK and Chemdawg is unclear, their position on the tree supports the notion that marijuana forms of cannabis are more related to each other than to the hemp forms, and that these two marijuana strains share a common heritage.

plant-derived cannabinoids as a 'neglected pharmacological treasure trove' and others have noted the potentially useful biologically activities yet to be identified for this group of plant natural products [15]. Medical marijuana strains reportedly have different therapeutic effects based on levels of THC, THC:CBD ratios, the presence of minor cannabinoids and the contribution of other metabolites such as terpenoids [51]. The sequences of the cannabis genome and transcriptome will provide opportunities for identifying the pathways and remaining enzymes leading to the major and minor cannabinoids. Such knowledge will facilitate breeding of cannabis for medical and pharmaceutical applications.

Science with facts^^^^ Everything you guys say..is pure Bro Science 101
