@Cuddles a paper has been sent to Brussels, wich is more of a sketch than anything else and it goes a little something like this:
Germany is saying that by this model harm is beeing reduced and the laws and UN agreements are better served than by totally banning cannabis.
Now, a sort of decriminalization would be nice even before theres an actual law that would make cannabis legal to get people used to what the future is supposed to look like ... but i suppose this wont happen.
Many view the sketchy paper beeing sent to Brussels as a weak move.
No idea what plan B might look like if the EU says no.
German government still says theyre making it legal, one way or another...
It remains to be seen.
- Cannabis is to be sold in licensed stores to adults for recreational purposes. This is to ensure that the cannabis quality is controlled and that no contaminated substances are released. The protection of minors should be guaranteed. Cannabis should only be sold to adults.
- The commercial cultivation and distribution of recreational cannabis should be state-licensed and controlled. The aim is to curb the black market and organized drug crime.
- Acquisition and possession of cannabis for personal consumption should be permitted, but only up to a maximum amount of 20 to 30 grams. Private cultivation should also be permitted, limited to three plants for each adult.
- The prevention offers for cannabis are to be expanded. Instead of being prosecuted, underage users should, for example, take part in mandatory prevention programs. There will be a general ban on advertising.
- The societal effects of the law are to be evaluated after four years and beyond.
