There are some very intelligent young people out there. But IQ only tests one area. How emotionally intelligent is that same 15 year old ?
That 15 year old isn’t done growing yet. Physically, mentally or emotionally. That’s why you can’t consent at that age.

While I don't know your defintion of emotional intelligence. I'll assume it includes having the ability to understand and control their emotions as well as recognizing the feelings of others.

There are lots of 42 year olds that struggle with that, especially if they have low intelligence. There are also lots of high i.q. 40 somethings that have a hard time controlling their emotions, and fail to recognize or care about others feelings.

Are you saying there is no 15 year old in the world that can't make intelligent choices better than a not very bright 42 year old? Weren't you at 15 smarter than a 42 year old low intelligence guy?

Should adults of 42 be required to take some kind of test to satisfy the "allowed" thresh-hold before they can get elective cosmetic surgery?

I can't speak for them. I started shaving at 3 years old and by the age of 9 I could get a girl pregnant just by looking at her. Had to wear special glasses once half the elementary school became unwed mothers.

We should draw the line with our children when it comes to safety and common sense. That seems to be lacking when it comes to this topic specifically

I’m just trying to talk about the topic because i care about young people.

In general, I want less government in my life. But I don’t think there is any way around government involvement when it comes to public safety. Especially when we’re dealing with the safety of kids.

Besides the Speakers Corner what are you doing to keep "our children", "young people", and "kids" safe? There are plenty of organizations, government entities, concerned citizens out there to enjoin to protect the children. Your passion should be turned to action. You should do something.

we don't stop developing until into our 20s. what we feel before going through puberty, during and after could be different how we feel when going into adulthood and beyond.

we should be teaching contentment and not going to the doctor for a tablet or procedure , for every one of lifes struggles . some treatment is essential obviously, the majority is not .
