So I popped 4 GDP seeds and about a month in one of them has 5 nodes where the others have 8 and is almost half the height(3" vs 5-6"). It also burned with the same amount of nutes as the other 3, it likes 1/2 the strength of the others(1/4 strength). It also started life as a pure purple seedling in 80*f, and remained fully purple untill the 2nd set of leaves. Its new growth is still a pink/puprle. More info, soil very light strength organic soil 40+% perlite, veging under CFL's 18/6. From your testing do I have a Purple Urkle dom pheno or is it just a runt? Ill try to get pic's if needed.

Thanks for your help:dance013:

Grandaddy Purple is extremely slow in veg so i think you have a GDP dominant plant, have patience with her and i am sure she will be well worth it. Would love to see some pics.

How many differnt pheno's have you seen with your GDP s1 seeds? So what would you say about the other 3 GDP s1 seeds that are 5-6" after a month vegging. They also have longer leaves than the small one, same width tho. The lights are off ATM, ill get some pics when the lights turn on(1hr 48min :))

Ill also get some pics of your SSSDH, have 6 that are the same age as the GDP.

Here is a pic I found on another forum posted by Ken of his official GDP cut.

I'd use this to find your keeper.

True that, my gdps are growing about 1/2 as fast as my xmas special, as far as lateral branching goes. really interesting

GDP s1 Should be very close to the Mother ? Is there allot of variation in the s1??? I started 2 yesterday I can see them both trying to poke through the soil..

it seems I have two pheno's the smaller/slower growing one and the 3 others. The other 3 are still growing slow dont get me wrong, their leaves are exactly the same as the pic posted. This is why I thought possible it was a rare Urkle pheno, or i was hoping atleast.

Hey bro i totally dig where your coming from with the Urkle pheno, you may be right with that theory and find the smaller pheno is a trait of the Urkle side.....if the GDP origin is true (Urkle x Big Bud, which im still not 100% on) then a smaller pheno will more likely be Urkle trait than Big Bud.
Good luck, cant wait to see some pics.

Hi All!

I think you will find some good plants in the Granddoggy's whichever way they lean. I would let em veg a bit before the flip, though. I did not get a lot of stretch due to an early flip due to time constraints and my own impatience.

I got two pheno's, one that had good dense nugs with some purp coloring and seemed to lean more to the Doggy sided of things. The other pheno had less dense buds but smelled of jolly rancher candy from very early on. One of the tastiest herbs of my last few rounds (along with Casey Jones), tastes very much the same as it smells - satisfies my sweet tooth with a nice kick in the ass from the Chem side.

In fact both phenos have a good kick in the potency department. Good meds for some of my health issues.

The more candy, less dense pheno was a bit nute sensitive and had a Mg def for a bit, but all worth it in the end. Both phenos pulled around 70'ish days.

Good luck everyone with their grow!! :ying:

I'm following with interest. Got a line myself that might be related to gdp and it sure looks a lot like it. Does the GDP have an artificial like perfumed candy flavor that stays in the mouth?

Im seeing a slower growing smaller pheno in my pack as well, have some vigorous taller ones as well. My smaller one has sown purple traits from the beginning, really sensitive and slow as a mug in veg. Im really hoping for a real chemy one in there as well.

I've been looking into this as well. I got a pack and only pop'd two but I also pop'd a Nirvana Wonder Woman seed and she is about twice as far along as both GDP's. They look healthy, just slow in veg as other have said here.

the gdp are very slow vegers, its just the strain so dont worry about them being slow
takes double time to veg my gdp up compared to other strains when i flower them
but it is def worth the wait

Oh for sure! I wasn't complaining or anything. Just adding to the reassurance. I can't wait to put these girls into flower. After I take some cuts of course. :)
