The Girls Got New Shoes
Growdate: Day 64...31 Days 12/12...Final Transplant
GMT & Growdoc..Repoted today...not quite 50/50 on the mix, but I did use a lot of perlite.
Sack...By leaching I meant I was flushing the soil out with straight water several times to remove any unwanted salts and acids (I used Pro Mix soil this time)...on the final flush I add bloom nute mix with all the macs & mics...since this is the final transplant in flower..I also added some root stimulator and Top Max..
I transplanted into 9 gal (34L) pots. I didn't use the pots to full capacity. 5 gals (19L) of soil was added. They were in 3 gal(11.4L) pots using about 2.5 gals (9.5L). So now they grow in a total of @7.5 gals (28.5L) of soil.
After I was done flushing the soil, I tilled the soil around with my hands...used a 3 gal pot as a transplant template and could get the hole the exact size and depth of the plants...just filled in soil around the 3 gal pot, then pulled it out and perfect hole to receive the plant. I let the plants get fairly dry so I could pull out the plants by the stem without any harm. I figure the dry soil from the plant will draw water from the wet soil and be a good transition into the new soil...making the roots go into the new soil towards the moisture...with minimal chance of root rot.
The transplant went off without a hitch..using the old pot as a template made it go so smoothly...increased from 12"(30cm) to 16"(40cm) diameter {2" (5cm) new ring of soil around old soil} and 5"(13cm) of new soil on the bottom...heres some pics.
