The Girls Got New Shoes

Growdate: Day 64...31 Days 12/12...Final Transplant

GMT & Growdoc..Repoted today...not quite 50/50 on the mix, but I did use a lot of perlite.

Sack...By leaching I meant I was flushing the soil out with straight water several times to remove any unwanted salts and acids (I used Pro Mix soil this time)...on the final flush I add bloom nute mix with all the macs & mics...since this is the final transplant in flower..I also added some root stimulator and Top Max..

I transplanted into 9 gal (34L) pots. I didn't use the pots to full capacity. 5 gals (19L) of soil was added. They were in 3 gal(11.4L) pots using about 2.5 gals (9.5L). So now they grow in a total of @7.5 gals (28.5L) of soil.
After I was done flushing the soil, I tilled the soil around with my hands...used a 3 gal pot as a transplant template and could get the hole the exact size and depth of the plants...just filled in soil around the 3 gal pot, then pulled it out and perfect hole to receive the plant. I let the plants get fairly dry so I could pull out the plants by the stem without any harm. I figure the dry soil from the plant will draw water from the wet soil and be a good transition into the new soil...making the roots go into the new soil towards the moisture...with minimal chance of root rot.
The transplant went off without a hitch..using the old pot as a template made it go so smoothly...increased from 12"(30cm) to 16"(40cm) diameter {2" (5cm) new ring of soil around old soil} and 5"(13cm) of new soil on the bottom...heres some pics. :nanana:

Medusa?

Medusa?

Clonedate In Soil: 9 Days...1st Day LST

GMT...Thanks, the girls were a little rootbound already, every piece of soil came up when I pulled them.

I decided to do the clone LST style and just for fun, I've been wanting to try it...and designate her BD Medusa...for all the snakes coming out of her head..well soon hopefully anyway.. :woohoo:
I had problems with her early on..my fault..put her under the 175w MH too early and pH was low...a little leaf damage, but she's doing good now. I have her under 2 - 2'(60cm) 17W 4100K T8 fluros. I haven't really givin her many nutes yet, some of that time release stuff is in there though...I only added a little CalMag+, Superthrive, Microblast, Diamond Nectar and very weak at that.

Enough of that..pics :nanana:

Hi,

nice work there I see. Ummm, can you explain what your plan of training the plant is?

Take care, Tic :joint:

RED145...Thanks man..they're getting there..

Growdoc...A little love and bondage is always for the best.. :yoinks:

Tic...My plan..well I read Caprichoso's thread about LST(Low Stress Training) a while back ago and have since watched a few people try it, Mr Green Jeans and Sackoweed are two doing it right now, of many.(that just sounded wrong) The idea here is to grow the plant horizontally(axial) and train the plant so the main top is below the horizontal portion of the main stem. Hormones called auxins determine the highest point on the plant and concentrate growth there. LST allows the auxins to be re-distributed along the axial main stem causing growth that really takes off..when the new tops are somewhat defined, then you can release the main top and it continues growing as well..no loss of plant as with topping, but overall height of the plant will be reduced hopefully with a very even canopy. Great method for smaller lighting and height restricted grows...Basically you turn the plant into a auxin manifold. :chin:

HairyBass..Thanks man...I'm just a student doing an experiment here with LST...hopefully I'll pull it off and make it look like I knew what I was doing.

chuckyoufarley..My BD Betty is a dwarf compared to your Bangkok Betty..but for indoor indica they are bigger than I expected..the main stretch seems to be slowing down finally...bud building is going good though :canabis:

Little Update: found a bud with a couple of seeds on Alfa the same height as the seeded bud on Betty...She must of got some pollen when I rotated the plants...the buds must have collided. So a little more drama. I'll do full updates as soon as I have a little more time. I named the male Chump, then Sackoweed called him Two Pump Chump...and the name stuck...In fact I've called a few co-workers that recently...So Two Pump BD Chump is knocking up my ladies long after the garbage truck hauled him away. :pimp3:

Indica plants are the tallest out of the Cannabis family, but they are also the easiest to grow indoor...

Pollen lives for 3 weeks, after that is very fast down hill...

Growdate: Day 70...37th Day 12/12

Growdoc...I've always thought sativas were taller on average, and that's what's published "The Cannabis Grow Bible" says sativa's average 4 ft to 15 ft...indica and ruderalis 6 inches to 4 ft...unless you meant the tallest plant ever recorded was an indica plant...but not on average

The girls have stopped growing vertical besides bud growth. Alfa has stopped at 3'6" (1.07m) and Betty at 39 1/2" (1m). I'm about to water and feed um after this post..besides a half gallon of water each on the old soil...this will be the first watering since the transplant. I'm going to add a little Kool Bloom this time..I have been adding Top Max previously. So here are some quick pics under the lights...so color is off but you get the drift. More pics later with the clone :nanana:

Clonedate: Day 15 In Soil

GMT..Wow thanks man

BD Medusa is doing pretty good in LST, the axial growth is starting to take off. She's been under 24/0 using the fluros. After the pic I put her under the 175W Super MH again...I think she's ready this time..only givin her water...nutes next feeding. So I took a quick pic to show her progress.

Growdoc...I think I can afford the new camera now..Going for the Nikon D70s..I think I'd rather collect Nikon lenses..so hopefully real soon..maybe this week, we can see the BubbleDust dealt some photog justice. :woohoo:

Hello,

this is my bubbledust outside. I am sorry that I am not on the pic, but there was nobody home when I was taking pictures. So here goes.

On the last pic, we can see that one branch is getting really big, as big as the main (non existing for now) cola. hehe

I am haveing problems with this size. The steam is so hard I CAN NOT BREAK IT! I need to do smth about the size.

Ahh, have to go now.

Peace, Tic
