We just made that same trek from butte last weekend we went hiking in the redwoods and saw mary jane the musical up in blue lake. i love that country up there, hopefully we'll get enough donations to buy some land up there for next year.

I just did a double rainbow pooper scooper into that huge mound on the river yo!

Hot damn thats some nice scrub country. And this whole time I thought it was bubble blonds and palm trees. Sheete Scoot we might have found a new home.

a peep I knew loves to talk about her friend that spent two whole years down by the river in Fresno before they was legit... gold

here's a little update from my neck of the woods...

http://youtu.be/uHNoIMeKxtc

not sure if any of you saw the watering strategy thread, but anyways I'm keeping a little running total of how much water the plants have drank, just for fun. Up to around 50 gallons each, on average. Well, here's a picture of them all catching some late night light...

I hope everyone's having as great of a summer as I am! thanks to everyone making it possible :)

It's cool and all, but I need to get a better model. One with more detail and control. Some things you can get by with by not spending a lot on, but other things you gotta bite the bullet and get the top, I think microscopes are one of those things.

thanks for stopping by mr. shiva, love your stuff :thank you:

Damn boobs, my ladies want 5-10 gallons each every time I water, which is like 2x times a week. Cant believe your have only taken 50 gallons each thus far...Its been super hot here though, so that could explain some of it.

I'm amazed as well. I'm going through about 50gal a plant per day at the moment, which seems insane. I was hoping you were going to like the microscope more, someday I'd like a good one. GCG - keeping it real :)

Only way to keep it mr.shiva. Trying to bless you up to the next green dot. Seems overdue bro. Thanks for checking in. Always checking you out!!! :)

For the folks who are surprised by the difference in water, I think I have an idea as to why that is. If GCG and boobs are sitting on the same kind of clay I'm sitting on, there is almost ZERO water permeability. It's why the county required a highly engineered septic system with not one but TWO septic tanks, a sand filter AND a leach field. I'd have to say that easily 1/3 of our land is dedicated to processing poop.

The cannabis and other stuff I grow in raised beds is sitting in a good quality topsoil that has excellent drainage. The stuff I have growing right in or on the ground (my tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and squash this year, I put beans in some of my cannabis planters to experiment with rotation).

Everything is on drippers.

The stuff in the raised beds MUST be watered at least twice a day when it's as hot as it's been, high 90s to the low 100s @ 2,500' elevation. But the stuff that's directly in-ground? Shaking off the heat like it's nothin'. In fact, I am REALLY being tempted to try putting my cannabis in those beds next year.

Add to that the way they've controlled moisture in the root zone with what looks like a really nice, thick layer of good straw, and it makes sense to me that they've been able to be conservative with meeting watering requirements.

Plus, looking at all the healthy forest that's so close, I'm thinking maybe that plays into it, ya know?

Wait! I forgot which model you got. I want to get a USB scope to hook up to my Tablet, and be all portable and stuff. I have 'traditional' student model (hell if I can remember what the term for them is right now, I need more coffee) but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to get a good view. I have to take off my glasses, which means that I have issues focusing. I'm over 40 so my eyes have floaties, just like Microbeman warned me might occur.

And, it's probably a lot easier to have a science day with kids when they can all see the screen at the same time.

Celestron makes an LCD screen model that some science-y type acquaintances have recommended to me, but I think I deleted the bookmark.

Wow, this touch screen model didn't exist when I was last looking!

interesting theories you all have about watering...

the model I have is from AmScope, it was around $150. It's more of a toy compared to what I was used to back in college when I was studying biochemistry. It'd be fun for a kid to play around on but that's not what I'm trying to do. :)

That celestron looks pretty slick, after this fall I plan on buying a real nice one and spending most of the off season working on teas.

...our land is dedicated to processing poop...
couldn't resist...

Foilar fogged some Lithovit at 1 1/4 Tbsp/gal + a couple drops of the exciter (100% yucca extract) this morning, time to swing around in the hammock and watch them raise the roof. :woohoo:

lol... I used to watch care bears in the morning when I was a little kid, weeding my way through christian school

but hey, I'll do you one better, we've got six Bubba/Og's which have yet to be pictured at GCG's that have had only straight water, no teas, and no foilars of any kind. They're the ones way in the back, we didn't really go and check 'em out much, they're kind of secret

When I first started smoking I'd listen to the song you linked almost every night before I went to sleep, love it  ...as a matter of a fact I spun that record this morning while I applied the dew, was still on the turntable from you requesting it here during your visit ...not sure how much you remember from that, we had a pretty good time.
