i've always thought that there should be a bonus scale matched to how long you were married, given how important society thinks a stable family is for the children involved. once THEY leave, though, it should be compensation for the decades of utter shit many (both male and female) suffered through. you SHOULD get to relax at some point short of death... 50 years...that should get the fucking Congressional Medal Of Honor.
