Same here in Ontario Canada. When I was growing up, diesel was half the price of gas. Now it's more. I'd like to hear the bullshit explanation for that one.
I don't know what you are complaining about with fuel prices in the US at $5 per gallon, that works out to be AU$1 per liter here in Australia where fuel prices are above $2.20 per liter or US$10.50 per gallon.

just the cost of car insurance for as long as i've had that bike would buy at least two of them...plus riding bikes is way more fun
folks here whine, not understanding that Europe has been paying shitloads more than we are now for years. as much as 75% of their price is taxes. there would be rioting in the streets here if it was like that. spoiled, i'm telling you...

It's amazing so many put up with the outrages taxes on fuel. In Illinois since the Jelly Bean Pritzger was elected our fuel taxes have increased 100%. And we have a sales tax on it too so the higher the price the higher the tax. Really hitting the poor the hardest.
How do you suggest we do not put up with them?
I already ride a bike when it's not freezing out.
