If I'm not mistaken it's one of the most expensive places to live, the homes are selling to multi-millionaires & billionaires as they're the only ones who can afford it.

Is it cheap to visit then? I've seen the shows about the building of the islands and homes & the prices quoted were crazy, or perhaps for the shock value only the highest priced homes were mentioned....... ?

Living expenses are high but house prices on a whole aint to bad. most things i found to be cheap. I went to Iceland last October, now talk about expensive.

I saw the making of the palm islands in dubai on the discovery channel.Seemed like a pretty complex job,they had to drill into big rock formations and constantly trucks were bringing in loads of rocks which was the foundation and then ofcourse they needed tons of sand on top.Although the island looks pretty cool,its kind of ridiculous but I guess dubai needs tourist so they can trap them in jail for years.
