The NORML Lawyers are good, really good,

along with really busy and don"t have much time to hear you and very expensive, most will tell you they need 50-70 thousand to get started if it"s going to jury. The 70 or so thousand should getcha through the trial

I'm a private medical person and so I don't have connects with anything outside of the Inetrnet but if I was to move a large amount in my car from place to place could I put it in a large cooler with dry ice and stop the smell?

I don't mean this to be off-topic just wondered if such a thing would help people.

KB I am sorry to hear about your troubles, I have always been a fan of the larger grows and the growers who can pull them off. I think a lawyer would be your first step, just make sure it is a good one who is willing to put in the time and work to get the job done. Good luck man, hopefully you can find a good enough lawyer so you wont need it.

Sorry to hear of it. Perhaps, as you say your legal, then they may just screw with you, keep your gear, make you jump through hoops and just generally make your life hell while they can. We hope anyway.

unless you are in a redneck county,, they will charge you, fully scripted or not, and make you hire a lawyer to fight it. most likely you'll get a plea; reduced charges and they keep your cash. they want cash, they don't want another body in jail. if you are in a redneck county, it might be different.

good luck... hope things go as good as they can.

well maybe now you DO want marijuana legalized

if "legal" pot passes in cali in nov, anyone who grows more than an ounce on a 4x4 tray will be breaking the law... nice :bigeye:

Either it was CHP who pulled you over or they knew something beforehand. CHP are overpaid metermaids who love to get warrants,or go in without one after finding anything.

The #'s game

Federal definition of plant. visable root, stalk and leaves.

Reality = they take pics of all 500 or so clones and count each one as a plant don't care if they are only 1 inch they will count it.

Tried to argue that there was no photograph of visable roots.

didn't work.

argued and argued some more. Try to convince a judge or jury that those 500 individual clones don't have roots = fail.

MilitantHippie-Damn! I've always thought that would work! A medical grower here got busted for 25 clones which they said were plants.Since he didn't have any patients to cover these 'plants' They took his kids because it was "manufacturing a controlled substance in the presence of a child" ouch....CAREFUL WITH MASS CLONING...

REZDOG-Very good posts, there are 32 people serving life for 3rd strike pot offenses in cali. Colorado's law enforcement is happy with our new BS laws which they think has tidied everything up. You can be a rapist and own a disp. as long as it was 5+years ago since conviction. Have a felony cultivation charge 20 years ago? Too bad so sad you can't go near owning anything like a dispensary.

I drive an old piece of shit but at least it has a little light that comes on when a brake light goes out.....

Sorry to hear this...I feel for ya. Nobody should go to jail for pot.

Your best bet is to get the best lawyer you can't afford. You might be paying for a while but if you get an elite lawyer your chances for beating this are way better. Since you have the bho manufacturing tubes...your best bet is a great lawyer getting the whole thing thrown out.

Good Luck!

Krunch...Really sorry to hear about what happened. Only one attorney I know of and this guy is top notch! He's close enough to you to make it work and from everything I've heard about him it'll be $ well spent. I sent you his name and number. I've talked to him in the past about something I was dealing with and really helpful and impressed with his background and work he's done for other peeps. Some friends of mine know him well and all good stuff he's done to help peeps out. Has really worked some 'magic' in some instances. The dude really is one of the best in this area. He probably wouldn't remember me as that was a few years back and he never took my case cause I ended up not getting charged with anything. NOYB!

Either it was CHP who pulled you over or they knew something beforehand.
They pull you over for any damn thing they can these days. They're looking for any excuse to get into your life cause they know where it can lead sometimes.

As for Joeshmoe...Rez has basically got it right about what happened to him. Last I heard Joe is scheduled to get out next May and possibly a bit sooner now cause of some good things going his way. Word is he ended up in a pretty OK place to finish things off...all things considered.

damn KB...... you had so many close calls.... having the realtor showing off the house you were growing pot in....talking to the police officer about your nice grand national (was it outside of the grow house, or did you have weed in the car while u were talking about it, i cant recall?) either way, those were two close calls that woulda made me personally squeeze my buttcheeks real tight from that point further... meaning i would have watched my every move...

fucking lights out move is bullshit..... they always pull that shit... do they take a picture of the light bulbs to prove in court that it was actually out? or does their word stand?....truthfully KB, i think they wanted you BAD and this was their big break... 3 times u said they pulled ya over????

The million dollar question. Will the feds prosecute me?

lots of determining factors, on most cultivation charges on a state level the case is forworded to the feds and they take a look at it. If you have something they want then yes they will not hesitate to come after you.

The more you have the higher the chances are they'll come.

house, rental property. boats, cars, campers that are paid off.

If you have a bunch of shit but it isn't paid off they know the bank gets it.

if you have cars, four wheelers, and stuff like that that is paid off then get nervous especially if you own rental property.

calm down man, feds dont pick up every case.

I had DEA, local task force, US marshal's , and I think the FBI involved in my case. Way over a 100 plants and feds did not pick it up.

There are a lot of factors involved.

Just be glad you were able to get out, and that you had someone who posted the bail for you. Friends like that do not come easily, trust me

. . . .

Hi,again,All.
The (foolish) mis-perception(s)
(and horrific mis-interpretation(s)!)
by LOCALS AND OUTSIDERS,ALIKE!
of California's marijuana "reform" laws for the past decade
has been a pet peeve of mine for as many years as it's been on
the books. I did the research way back when, and with
Professional Help, determined it was a clusterfuck,
but why preach it?
I just sat back and watched,unhappily-
And I have yet to be proven I was incorrect.
What I posted earlier took me almost an hour-
I wanted to be as Crystal Clear as possible.
It is,I feel,
sadly,100% Correct, and I'm sorry if it unsettles some people.
(It should (sadly) unsettle everyone!)
I wish more people would do actual research
on all of this medical marijuna laws and regulations,
instead of letting people around here paint a rosy picture
that only exists at this very moment by the whim of the authorities, and a vague,
generalized law that's not acted upon by los federales' as
federally valid-even though it is.
California has a LONG way to go with its'
marijuana "reform" laws, and that's All There Is To It.
They've forged a path for which everyone should be
grateful,but it's Far From Over,
or even close to perfect.

My .000000002

iSmoke,
I don't know the "best" place to be involved in the USA medical (or any other) marijuana business.
It's still illegal,federally,everywhere,so that's a Big Minus,period.
I'd research it as much as possible, and read EVERY STATE'S EXACT (Official .PDF) LAWS REEGARDING MARIJUANA,
and then contact an "aware" legal defense attorney in that state, and consult with him, before doing a damn thing.
....Or,you could move to a country where it's your Constitutional RIGHT to be left alone,on your own property,as long as you pose no risk to Public Health or Safety.
