I found a grow about 40 years ago. We were fishing walking into the area when we spotted about 50 plants in a small square area. None of the plants had started to bud maybe not even showing sex. We took every plant dried it out for two weeks. Then went on to smoke the worst pot you can imagine and thought it was cool. 3/4 of an oz. a day all summer for me. Males, females it didn't matter. We were in the 9th grade and had a shitload of weed. Yes it would get you high but looking back on it I wish we wouldn't have seen it. Long story short. Your not in jail so keep it that way. Back in the day everybody smoked fan leaf. Manicuring just wasn't done, you smoked it all, sometimes stems and seeds included. Like many great things, pretty, manicured buds is very much a North American phenomenon.

It sounds like an ineffective ripoff, I know I'd want an answer too but at what cost. Night time for sure. I lost a killer spot about twenty years ago. I showed up carefully at one end of the plants that were trailed off in a deep ditch fifty feet from a farmers field. I decided to do a head count before water and found that the first plant on the other end had been stomped on, like someone had a temper tantrum. This plant was 8 by 8 foot tall and wide. There was a clear new trail through 8-12 foot weeds towards the farmers field. We never made any trails here. They were three weeks into flower and we left everything behind, pump, fert, bags. We know the farmer spotted my friend in the area in the spring so maybe he just waited for fall or just finally found them. I was over to a friends three nights later and he asks me if I'd heard about the pot the d.e.a. picked up by helicopter outside of this nearby town. He saw it on the six o'clock news, said it was a joint effort with the sheriff. The helicopter worked the area for a couple more days, missing another small spot. Fairly remote spot in the Midwest. Still went back a month later they didn't mess with fert or pump or plastic bags.

Yeah, most likely it was the farmer that stomped the plant. The day he saw my friend one mile from the site was the only time either of us went there in the daytime. All plants were taken, they averaged 8 foot tall and there were thirteen. Skunk #1 and Northern Lights and crosses of the two. A big loss but I'm just glad I showed up when I did and not a little later.

Glad you got some smoke too, and a good lesson out of it. When growing outdoors, the further you go and the harder to get to the better for sure. Now's the best time of year for me to get girls outdoors, but I don't feel like the woods in my area are safe enough. Way too many people going in and out. Indoors is a lot less hassle! Then again, sunlight is free, and you aren't limited by the amount of space you have indoors. Maybe next year...
