beautiful pics Chak-ra mate, the trimming is never much fun, but it's part of growing, so better get some club members in there when the time comes. you can make every member trim his own share lol.
@ Hazeo : yeah, I know brah, but it was a joke! (my humor is not as good as my growing skillz ) So we'll make the most out of every single trichome that gets produced. Thing I was getting at was that even when 2/3rd of the plant should rot away, enough is left for the members of the Social Club Btw, outdoor buds that look like indoor grown. That is what we want. Easy to trimm as well.
@ G: Thanks for the good vibes man! But when every club member should get in there and trimm his or her own share, say bye-bye to security of the grow location. It's a lot of work and it is all fun in the beginning. But when cutting such quantities by hand, you better sit comfortable
Maybe I should devote an entire thread to the trimming and drying of these monsters
And we've decided that when we cut down the plants, we keep the stems, sand it smooth and a bit of varnish and we'll have something like hunting trophees. Should be cool in a belgian hemp museum in the future.
i think the only way to make out door or green house bud look like indoor is to do the light deprivation thing. some how the moon light and the stars are enough to make out door buds look a lot more leafy then indoor. but if you make their dark phase 100% dark you will get the buds looking very close to indoor. with a lot less leaves growing inside the buds.
That is true And lots of very intense light in the right spectrum will help too I'm curious to see how far we get. We got pretty close with the autoflowers.
It really surprises me to see outdoor bud that is much much much smellier and more resinous than indoor bud. But I guess it depends for a part on the skills of the growers.
Great advice G! We're gonna go for darkening rooms next season. That way we have a harvest in july and one in october. Never again this big a plants (never say never, who knows, maybe one or 2 )
i actually did this on my balcony for a while on a small scale. made a bed of soil, built a wooden frame and covered it up from 6pm till 6am, and those buds looked just like indoor except they were smaller, because they only got half a day of direct light every day. so it's really the darkness that matters for that typical indoor look. it's a bit of a pain to always have to be there to cover them, but there are ways to automate it.
im glad i saw your post in a diff thread showing the GH and came to your thread as i would love to be involved w/a GH or 2 as my state votes in medical cannabis next year.
the potential law sucks b/c it doesnt allow patients to grow their own, its a regulated corporate structure but doesnt limit plant #'s so there are many benefits but it will need to be revised after its voted in.
multiple large GH grows will soon dominate the sunshine state.
Very impressive/inspirational grow chak-ra, and great to see plants being grown so freely!
Whilst I'm by no means an authority on growing monsters (or any size plant for that matter), I would say next time it would be better to use up all the floor area in the greenhouse and plant further apart instead.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow, we'll see how it evolves
About the soil area:
While it is most certainly true what you are saying, I can assure you the plants have enough soil to form a decent rootmass (I'll show you in the authopsy ). However, I agree with you about the inter plant spacing. They should be further away from eachother. Now they are about 4m from eachother. Should be more like 6m or something. Maintenance is a bitch right now
About that purple pheno:
We've already found several purples in the Frisians. About the one we're lookin after, dunno yet, we'll see def. in the testing phaze. But there are some really nice ones in there!
It can suck to grow such big plants from seed, if there is a bad or less tasting pheno in there you're stuck with all that weed..
Its a problem that annoys me as i like to grow 2 big plants so we're 'legal' and still have enough weed to last a year.
And keeping a motherplant for 2 cuts each year would be silly, and no longer legal... No clone shops in belgium as i know of and even then i probably wouldnt risk growing 2 shit clones.. Aaaah
Here's me hoping you dont get any bad pheno's!
Here we are again with a little update (will consist of 5 picture updates).
So far, only little bit of spider mites, no mildew and some caterpillars.
I'm not too worried about all that. It just shows we didn't use any pesticides that are harmful to the environement.
The Frisian have had their first swelling in flowering. Buds are already very heavy and bending over. Some cola's are more than 60 cm long and filled up completely with buds.
As big as a horses dick one would say.
about the phenotypes:
We can see already a majority of the Frisians will turn purple/red/pink.
About 6 of them will stay green. One has a slight coloration of the pistels and one green Frisisan is that bad pheno we were hoping not to have. So 15 out of 16 are desired pheno's so far.
Frisian tends to produce small sativa-like crystals. Bud structure is very good. Nice compact, thick and long cola's.
Less chat, more pictures maybe?
Owyeah, most of them still got 3 weeks to go, so they should be finishing around 10th of Octobre. Remember there was no light deprivation going on. Something for next year.
On a personal note: last week I had a pleasant chat with Santibaba from CBD-Crew/Mr.Nice. He recommended light dep. and was very pleased to see the CBD-enriched strains developing nicely in the greenhouse. He's a fantastic and inspirational fellow. So lucky CBD-crew joined forces with DutchPassion to get those CBD's out there.
