Frisian Dew in the Big Greenhouse

well that was a truly amazing grow and show. one hell of a project, many congrats on getting to the actual bagging up stage. with the size and all it's a wonder no one was harassing you guys. seems you really had a tight ship and your fair share of luck. your club members will be really grateful i bet.
i have to say, i'm amazed at how ripe you got them, i was thinking you'd be trimming them early to stop mold etc problems. just from the northern weather alone. so good job, seems you were brave enough to let each one go to the end before harvesting. very nice swollen trichs and good trichome coverage.
i loved the drying tent too, very convenient looking hanging system. man oh man that must have been one hell of a trimming session, did you have club members to help? or did you use machines? buds don't look like they were machine trimmed anyway.
great news about finding the phenotype you wanted. it's like an added bonus for you guys. interested to read how you think the myco was a reason for no pm. the rols growers all agree that a perfectly balanced soil with the correct bacteria and fungi will make the plant invincible to all pests and fungi. i do inoculate my coco slabs too, but some how i don't notice a big difference when i forget it. maybe coco already has that stuff naturally.

Thanks for the encouraging words mate! I'll take the time to answer some of you Q's. We had a wild season indeed!
Yeah, We took 5 weeks for the harvest period. So that means that we started harvesting at week 7,5 and continued till the end of week 12.
It was nice to see so many Frisians make a second and even third flowering. Probably because of the high temperatures we had at the end of September / beginning of October. When I look at the trichomes, all is about 50-50 (milky-amber) apart from the last batch which was more amber than milky (about 70-30), but had a lot of new clear trichomes forming (because of second flowering).
Mold wasn't a big problem till the last week of October, when heavy rains and storm systems set in. The fact we almost didn't have any mold is because of the following:
- Genetics that are fairly mold-resistent
- Mycorrhizae in the soil
- Big greenhouse with relatively little biomass and lots of bare soil (which sucked moisture from the air)
- Enough ventilation in between the plants and non-stop air circulation.
That's why even the biggest buds survived without any mold.
Also leaf diseases like Mildew where absent during the entire grow. But even 3m from the cannabisplants, there where several plants growing that where severly suffering from powdry mildew. Non on the plants what so ever.

We took a mesh garden screen to hang all the colas and a smaller mesh (for keeping chickens) to lay the smaller buds (4-10cm) on.
The buds were trimmed and dried in 2 separate ways.
The colas:
- cut off fan leaves
- check them and hang them upside down
- for 7-10 days
- with a RH of about 45-55%
- When stem inside the topbud of the cola very slightly cracks, take them down
- trimm off sugar leaves (manually!!)
- give them a final check and put them in a iron bag
The buds:
- cut off fan leaves and small stems
- inspect and take them to the drying area
- trimm them in the Tumble trimmer (make sure your buds are up to par for the trimmer and you use the right blades, otherwise it gets all messed up!)
- put them out to dry on a small mesh screen and spread them out good
- after 3 days at 45-55% RH, pile the buds together so the drying will slow down a bid and the buds get a nice form.
- after another 3 days, check for stems breaking inside the top of the bud.
- inspect and bag them in an iron bag.
Of course everything has to be monitored and written down in a log.
So only the smaller buds where done by 'machine'.
For the rest we did it all manual.
Because of security reasons there where no other people allowed during harvest season, so no club members to help.
6 total weeks of intense labor. Growing good bud isn't for lazy folk!
It takes anywhere from 6 to 16 weeks for MF to be fully established in the soil. Maybe thats the problem with indoor growers: by the time the MF can start working, the grow is finished already. Also, it's not advisable to add (chemical) fertilizers to a soil that is inocculated with MF.
Living organic soil, that is what you want. All the rest doesn't even come close in quality, no matter what 'standardized biological liquid nutrients' you use. It will never be as good as the pure thing.
Actually there should be some sort of code amongst the growers that you can grow all you want, but if you really want to do the plant and the end product justice, you grow organic/veganic with respect to Mother Nature.
No bullshit. And it saves the average Joe-grower tons of money in the long run!

3 of Belgiums most renowned professors (economist/criminologist and toxicologist) spoke out in public and the media this week about how the government MUST LEGALISE cannabis (more than it does now) and fully regulate the market (fully: production, quality control and distribution). Caused quite a newsfeed in BE.

Very nice strain to put under a scope. I can watch it for hours, really!
The colors on the trichomes are cool to behold.
It ranges from red-purple-pink stalks with normal heads, to normal stalks with colored heads. Really sexy that purple.
Don't mind the date-stamp on the pictures. Just the standard date on the microscope I used to take the pictures with.
