Rellikbuzz how much lime do you add ? Do you have any ratios? I just used FFOF for the first time a couple of weeks ago taking care of some clones for my buddy Dezylu and noticed that the soil was a little heavy, so I will take your advice and add perilite to it on my next run. Thanks for the tips.

I put 2 BIG cups of pulverized dolomite lime in every 5 gallon bucket. If you're using three gallons I'd put a full cup in. Yes, perlite will loosen the mix a bit but, if you can get it at the same store you got the Ocean Forest, I'd use 1 part Fox Farms Light Warrior, it's EXTREMELY light and also has the Mychorrizal Fungi in already. This helps promote vigorous root development! And you won't believe what a gorgeous, great smelling mix it is and sooo light! Roots go crazy in this stuff.

SW wow great info and thanks for stopping by. That looks like a great recipe for soil. I am still undecided what I am going to do whether just trying FFOF strauhgt or mixing other soils and ferts.

Rellikbuzz thanks for all the help. I will definitely be mixing some lime in my soil. I might do the light warrioir soil mixed withFFOF , but I am not sure right now. I will have to make a decision soon though as I am going to get started this week.

Thank you guys for all the help anymore will be appreciated.

OF is good stuff, plants will be ok for 4 weeks including 1 transplant. After that start out on half strength nutrients and adjust as needed.

ive used ffof from seed to finish twice now with great results. i add guano both bat and sea bird, i also add a cup of lime and a extra bag of perlite to each 1.5 cubic ft bag of ffof. my last grow i fed with pure blend pro(bloom for soil), fox farm grow big, and some maxi-crop...oh yea i also added some cal mag from botanicare(not really needed, but i use to use epsom salts for mag and it dosent feel natural to me to not give them a mag boost) ive just started some WWxBB seeds form female seeds and im going to use these same nutes again with the addition of liquid karma which i just recieved some free samples of

sorry about grammer & spelling im really high

High GCG, I like ff but it's heavy to transport I use it like it was worm castings now because it's so rich & organic and filled with nutes.I add it 20-40% to pro mix Bx now I changed over but I was 100% foxfarm the cola at the bottom of my post was 100% FF Soil :yummy: it makes your smoke burn tasty :yummy: I think it's because of all the good stuff they put in it.It's almost like they made FF exclusively to gro pot it's terrific lol.Hav' fun growin garlic city gro!!Peace Bm357

Now that I think about it I suppose I did get a lot more nute burn when I was using 100% FFOF... I'm definitely gonna try the mix as soon as I get my hands on another bag... beef up the Promix a bit.

:) Ok.

We just flipped to bloom and everything has been OK with light 1/3 strength feeding. We will add some Foxfarm TigerBloom once and only add nutes again if they seem to need them. Let the plants tell you what they need. They will ;)
This will be my first all dirt all organic grow... and as gcg said - keep the tips comin'

we recently went back to FFOF as our other soil went up in price to $9 and FFOF is still $8.50

ffof / coir / perlite is the way to go imho

we use metanaturals, nitrozyme, top max, shooting powder, and some other local stuff

hey garlic,
howzit goin?remeber some things...the ffof soil is very rich, has everything a seedling/adult plant needs for approx.2-3 weeks.no need for nutes during that time.
if you feel the need to feed them nutes...use 1/4-1/2 strenghth and make sure u use organics!and most important imo is to make sure your water ph is correct!does you no good to do anything unless your ph is correct.keep a fan blowing lightly on them and let them do there thing.
hope this helps

HappyHipster - you get FFOF for $8.50 a bag!?!?!?! HOLY F!?!?! Good for you man! The stuff is over $20 a bag here. I can't even get a discount buying in bulk! So I've been making my own soil for a year now... :badday:

I've said before on another thread: The best and I mean BEST results I've ever gotten was on a LifeSaver clone, 2 weeks in veg from rooted clone, in a SOG, in one gallon of FFOF with 1 tblsp "FF Fruit and Flower" dry fertilizer added. Nothing but tapwater throughout the entire grow. No deficiencies noticed. The bud weighed 38 grams dry.

But I just can't swing $20 a bag, so I've been trying to make my own mix... good, but never as good as that was.

Does anybody know where I can get it at that price?

I get FFOF for $16/bag. I can't imagine it being $8.50 unless you got some kind of hookup. Nice price though!

meet you in the back!

Thanks for the tips sparobis. I just bought a new PH pen ( Hanna) I have had a lot of problems with my Grotek PH meter over the years and thought I would try something new. I am going to go all organic this run FF grow big for veg and Pureblend for flower. I will be using Protek to balance my PH up. I know that the ferts will drive my PH way down. I grew in hydro for years. Trying something new.

SW where do you live? All of the hydro stores around here sale FFOF for around $11.00 a bag.

Thanks for stopping by Cheeba.

East Coast. I'm not big on giving out my location, but every grow store in this state robs people. I was hoping I could get the hookup online, but have never found it reasonable enough to switch back...
