No mate
after a new battery,,Dashboard control module,,and alternator regulator it’s still blowing a fuse so I have a Clarke jump starter which will help me get the car to my long term mechanics in the new year,,,,
Sorry to of made you think about it again man. What a bastard. Something isn't quite sitting right, having done a quick search. The regulator for the alternator, concerned with charging, is on the alternator with fiestas this age. The car ecu talks to it, but it's there, by the brush box. I have seen pics.
There is a regulator up the dash, but it's something else. I'm guessing a more computer grade psu. Nice steady voltages that can be referenced. Dashboards have often used them for a gauges over the years.

Our conversation has some crossover between the regs location and function. Perhaps your auto guy wasn't very good. The next shit thing to do, will be changing the alternator at the next garage. You know which fuse is going? Alts used to be straight to the battery, but big fuses are common now, so might it be the alt failing?

Shame I'm not nearer. I do like a puzzle. I don't get involved with normal jobs, but show me one where others have failed, and I'm suddenly interested.
