For those TRAITORS who think cannabis should be taxed

If you allow taxation then you give them the means to control you,

Sorry, but..... you're telling me you would rather see 20 more years of people going through the crap they are, just so nobody can collect tax on it? Way too narrow minded.

Pass the CCI bill. END THE CRAP!

In less than 10 years the tax will be lowered to reasonable levels. Nobody is going to bitch about lowering a tax on cannabis/hemp when an ounce costs 2$ to produce. There will be PLENTY of other taxes coming in through new industries and employees that are working. Really pisses me off how narrow minded people are and how much they refuse to actually THINK about something.

So you can name one commodity or service where the gov has actually lowered the tax on it?

That just doesn't happen.

Dude once again proof that you are clueless on the subject. All it takes to be a medical mj patient in California is a pulse, and a California ID. Anyone and everyone can be a med patient. It was done that way one purpose.

The precedents have been being set in court already. Next month the state supreme court is going to make a decision on plant limits and if they are an ammendment to prop 215. Since multiple courts have said so, odds are that they will too.

Courts have already ruled that collectives can legally sell weed per state laws.

Dude you have no clue just how legal it truely is in California. Even w/o a med card the fine for possesion of an ounce or less is $100 (the Oaksterdam initiative only covers an ounce remember, and they want $50 on every ounce instead of $100 if you happen to get caught).
So your agreeing that many people lie and abuse the system so they can smoke. Your philosophy helps those of us that sell for a living but spoils the case for those that really need it. I thought you were a crusader for the medical patient that actually needed medicine at an affordable price.

No I am not agreeing that many people lie and abuse the system. All use is medical so nobody is lying.

If you disagree with this "philosophy" as you call it then talk to Dennis Peron. It's his fault that anyone can get a doctors reccomendation for weed not mine.

I dont know how a dumb ass like you Freedom Fighter, can take himself so seriously. You're a dumb ass for the offensive thread title and every anti taxation post you have is DUMB.

If I actually took you seriously, I would be calling you the traitor.

I don't think you should be using these forums to try and talk people into pretending to be sick. That's a criminal offense.

The med laws in Cal were designed to help people with illnesses so they didn't have to take nasty pills with nasty side effects. It may not bother you to lie and pretend you have an illness but it's not something I could do, nor would I do it. And I don't think I'm alone on that.

And for your information, I get high so I can sit around and laugh with my friends and have a good time. I enjoy the taste and smell of good bud just like a wine drinker enjoys the taste and smell of a good wine. I can function just fine without it. And it's not something I need.

As soon as weed is legalized in Cal, people like you aren't going to be able to get the prices you're getting now. And I for one will be happy when that happens. Obviously you can give a shit less if it's legal for everyone and I think that sucks.

I'll be excited when the day comes that everyone in Cali can enjoy this God given plant without having to worry about being arrested or paying so much money for it that it financially hurts them.

To the dispensories that are making good bud available to people for a couple hundred an ounce, I applaud you and God bless you.

The thing I don't quite get here is you start a thread about canna taxes and traitors yet you pay taxes...willingly. You also talk about the Whiskey Rebellion and make other points about not paying taxes or that it's wrong.
Riley we are ALREADY paying taxes.... we just don't want more.
I personally don't see the idea or concept of paying taxes on canna wrong IF those taxes were used properly by the government for the betterment of society but that's far from the case.
Actually our status with the IRS is a for profit corporation. Not going to take the chances of having an arguement with the feds over income taxes derived from Cannabis.
But if you were non profit those taxes would not go to the IRS, except for any salaries paid, because those 'profits' would get dispersed to what you feel are worthy causes. You basically have to pay tax on income regardless of the source of your income in the US so that point is moot.

is it so hard to encompass that its all self medication?I personally feel that all drugs should be decriminalised.to that end mj has for medical use prop 215 is quite plain in its language anyone with a dr reccomend is immune from prosecution under state law.all of my dr either smoke or recognise the inherant validity of ones ability to self medicate being an inalienable right to self happiness, and as I and ff stated before if you were HONEST about your medicinal needs anyone can get a rec.
furthermore i or anyone else that is not a DOCTOR don't deign to speak for one. or
what the people of california intended because I am one of the people that voted for prop 215 and agreed with what all the opponents said would happen, and am actually quite happy about it.
freeing up more scheckels on the backside of potsmokers to fund more leo, prisons or any other black hole that cal state goverment is a no vote!

As I said earlier, the only ones AGAINST complete legalization are those that are trying to sell ounces for 500 dollars. But to call someone a traitor because they would opt for complete legalization is cowardly on it's face.

Let me see. What's better for a person? To pay a 50 dollar tax on a 200 dollar ounce, and be legal, or to pay no tax on a 400 dollar ounce after going to a Doctor and pretending to be sick and pay another couple hundred to boot?

This thread is as self serving of a thread as I've ever seen. And I hope it shows people what the almighty dollar can do to anything.

I haven't tried to talk anyone into pretending to be sick. And you want to speak of "criminal offenses" on this website of all places? Last time I checked outside of California, Colorado, Michigan and Wyoming it's pretty much still a crime to grow weed. Isn't that the whole point of this forum is to lalk people into growing?

The med laws in Cal were designed to help people with illnesses so they didn't have to take nasty pills with nasty side effects.
You might be surprised to find out the medical cannabis laws in California weren't designed so people didn't have to take pills. Proposition 215 was written as thinly veiled legalization as claimed by its opponents back in 1996. If you don't believe me JJ use 411 and look up Dennis Peron in San Francisco and give him a call. If you need his number because you are too lazy to use 411 feel free to PM me and I'll give you his number.

It may not bother you to lie and pretend you have an illness but it's not something I could do, nor would I do it. And I don't think I'm alone on that.
Nobody has to lie to get a doctors reccomendation. I have one for Cannabis Dependency. So did I lie to my doctors?

And for your information, I get high so I can sit around and laugh with my friends and have a good time. I enjoy the taste and smell of good bud just like a wine drinker enjoys the taste and smell of a good wine. I can function just fine without it. And it's not something I need.
Why can't you sit around an laugh with your friends without weed? You claim it's not something you need, yet seeing as you are a moderator on this site, I am pretty sure you will never be putting down your pipe/bong/joint/vape. Infact based upon your statement there are doctors that would gladly give you a reccomendation for your medical/recreational use for Social Anxiety Disorder. Since you use cannabis for social interaction it wouldn't be a lie.

As soon as weed is legalized in Cal,
It already has been for 13 years in California. Just curious where is this "Cal" place you refer too? Also where is "Cali" at?

people like you aren't going to be able to get the prices you're getting now.
I am Pretty sure that the prices will remain where they are at until there is a change in Federal law , not state law.

And I for one will be happy when that happens. Obviously you can give a shit less if it's legal for everyone and I think that sucks.
Too bad it's already legal for everyone here in California. It's funny however that you would mention that I could give a shit less, Because nothing could be farther from the truth. Two weeks ago I submitted a proposed ordinance for the implementation of 215 and sb420 in my city. Why don't you read it since it's attached to this post.

I'll be excited when the day comes that everyone in Cali can enjoy this God given plant without having to worry about being arrested or paying so much money for it that it financially hurts them.
The current penalty for being a stoner who is too lazy to see a doctor who gets caught with an ounce is a $100 fine as an infraction, no jail there. Pretty much the same cost to see a doctor to begin with, most traffic tickets cost more. So currently it's a $100 charge if you happen to get caught or if you want to see a doctor versus a $50 charge for every fucking ounce? Hrmmm it would seem that these initiatives will only hurt stoners worse financially.

I just recently loaned a friend a few thousand dollars to help him get his brother out of a Ca jail for possession of a little over a half lb, so don't tell me it's legal for everyone. So now I got a dog in this fight. The jails in Ca are loaded with people with petty weed charges.

As for you making money off weed, if you're selling for around a couple hundred a bag, good for you. If you're one of the ones trying to make 500 plus, enjoy it while you can. Legalization's just around the corner. When this happens, everyone can start growing without worry of incarceration. I looked at your web site but I noticed you have kept the prices blank.

That sucks for your friend bro. I take it that he didn't have a doctors rec? And the thing is even if Richard Lee's bullshit thing passes your friend would still have been screwed because it only allows for an ounce of possesion. With that much herb the pigs would have been also asking your friend for his tax stamps, and given him additional charges.

There were 74,119 cannabis arrests in CA in 2007, 57,995 of which were for possession.

http://www.canorml.org/news/2007arrests.html

Frankly JJ, I can make a boatload more money at $50 per ounce in a legal environment than I could dream of making at $500 per in an illegal environment. If a commercial grower with resources thinks his profit per ounce is the end all of how much money he can make he's sorely mistaken.

Point is that 9/10 are too lazy to see a doctor.

Or maybe they are to honest to fake an illness.

Or, maybe they would rather continue buying off the streets, until it's legalized and they can grow their own, instead of paying 25 to 35 a G from some stores. You still didn't answer me when I asked what your prices are.

No matter how hard someone tries to explain it to you, you just don't seem to understand. A lot of people that smoke are to honest to go to a doctor and lie and say they have an illness. I don't know how to say this politely, but a lot people have morals and would rather be truthful. It's not cool to them to be deceitful and dishonest. It makes a lot of people uncomfortable. On top of that, a lot of people don't want their employers to know they use pot. Or they don't want to be labeled an MMJ user. There are a lot of businesses that would "discretely phase someone out" they are so against it. I can tell you for a fact, that where I'm employed, mine or anyone elses jobs would be in jeopardy if we came forward and admitted to being a daily smoker....

Please tell me you can understand that.... Like I said before, I think Prop 215 is a wonderful things for someone that can benefit from it, but it's obvious the most of the people would rather it was legalized so they can keep their business to themselves, and live their lives on their terms.....

Just 10% of California's 3 million marijuana consumers are legal Prop. 215 patients

If there are 3 million marijuana users in California we can get any initiative we want passed. There's absolutely no reason to have to put up with anything that is less than full and complete re-legalization.

I do not know that I'm into (re)-legalization or decriminalization but I want tomatoization...where I can go into a nursery in the Spring and get a 'tomato' plant for like $3, get a pack of 'tomato' seeds for like $3, or get a pound of fresh premium heirloom 'tomatoes' at the local farmers market for like $3. That's what I'd like to see. If that happens though these forums would be pretty boring.

$10 a gram for weed is absolutely insane IMO. Go into your local health food store and see what the prices are per oz for 'medicinal' herbs. WILDCRAFTED goldenseal root is like $150 per lb and that's probably one of the more expensive you'll find. Even cultivated organic goldenseal root is like $150 per lb.

But yeah...enough people in Cali to get off their duffs and vote for something MUCH more sensible than what we have right now.

I think the POINT MANY NON-CALIFORNIANS DONT GET IS THAT PROP 215 WAS PASSED ON THE BASIS THAT ANY AILMENT IS ELIGIBLE FOR A CANNABIS RECOMMENDATION, MEANING THAT IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL NEED TO MEDICATE WITH CANNABIS THAN YOUR ELIGIBLE FOR A RECOMMENDATION. you dont need to be dying of aids or cancer to get your medical rec. Even if you smoke relationally, ask why or what made you seek a drug to have fun. Maybe there is an underlying reason why your seeking out to medicate, stress relief?depression? This cannabis taxation law by oakserterdam is just a gate being put by the canna-industry so that the keep making money till the real fighters and some real legalization bill comes around. They are recruiting many people to their cause because alot people genuinely believe that taxation a step forward in legalization. But it actually taking away rights and imposing more taxes. The oaksterdamn bill is also trying to please law enforcement and politicians, by adding limits and collecting more taxes. I think we need to clarify prop 215 first, probably amend sb420 to the real bill that the California voters voted for.

s.b.420 is an illegal modification of prop215 and should/will be tossed.the only legal way to amend prop 215 is thru another ballot initive period.
