That was a racist statement plain and simple. I have seen people of all color take from others on the inside. It's more of a person being percieved as weak and not based on being white.

Also always keep cash somewhere besides where the grow is. Thay will confiscate it and even if you have a job it will cost you more to get it back then its worth.

Allow me to re-phrase; 99.9 percent of the time, it's the black people that attempt to prey on the white people that have just arrived at the prison system here in Texas. Occasionally, hispanic people will attempt to prey on the new white folks arriving. I can honestly say that I have never seen a white guy attempt to hog another white guy, just because he may be weak. Nor have I ever seen a black individual attemt to extort protection money from another black person. As a matter-of-fact; I've pretty much gotta stick by my original statement. I don't know where you did your time but, here in the south, a white guy's got it pretty rough when he first drives up. And the prevaling attitude amongst the people of color (here), is that they are simply reversing all the years of oppression they falsely claim to have endured.

Now I'm misguided because of my taste in music? You sir are ignorant. As if it matters, I listen to all types of music and was in a succesful hard rock group for years. I weep for the future too. It's people like you who cause tension and hate between people of diffrent backrounds. I know , i know you have plenty of black friends and your not rasict. I have heard it all before. well where im from (NYC), it dont matter what color your skin is, if you dont defend yourself when you first go to rikers, its over for you.. You'll be a bitch for your whole ride... Black,White, Latin.. Color is not an issue. Only reason I can side with you a little bit is because the whole prison system is like 40% Black, 35% hispanic, 20% white and 5% other... so chances are when a white guy goes in hes an oddball, so hes bound to get picked on... But yes I have seen Blacks try and shake down blacks.. same thing with Hispanics.. Ive never seen a white guy try to shake down another white guy though... I guess since their the Minority in jail so they stick together... Overall, I still feel it was RACIST to associate NIKE and ADDIAS with BLACKS...... that was my argument..

Man, I had a good friend (so-to-speak) when I was inside, that had spent time in the NY corrections system. He told me some hellacious stories about Rikers. Not to be argumentative, but he always spoke about how it was more divided racially than Texas. I associated with a few black people in the pen, and we got along okay. They were not the Cowards that Run In Packs (C R I P's). However, I digress - My friend from NY told me that at Rikers, even if you were best friends with a black person on the outside, and saw him at Rikers, you better not be seen associating with him, because you were automatically assumed to be his bitch, or passing info on the whites for nefarias purposes. I'll tell you what though, if you've been through that place, you've been through some serious shit, no doubt about that.

You learn about the system at an early age.... I would just like to give respect to everyone who ever did or still doing time...

If you've been in (the system)for growing/a grow bust, how long should one wait to start growing again once one is no longer in the system(probation/porole {sp?}), if one does start growing again should one even stay in the area where one was busted for growing or leave the area and or state?

As a average size,white man, even thinking about prison makes my stomach hurt. i look at it like this, when you go into prison, you need to revert back to some primal insticts of survival. in my everyday life im a very mellow guy. However, as soon as someone fucked with me,i would try to kill them,not just fight them, but beat them to a bloody pulp. im non-violent, so this freaks me out. nothin scares me more than the thought of some 7 foot black guy who wants my "sweet white ass". also,i counldnt sit still all day, i need to ride bikes,have sex(with females),plus i have trouble peeing in front of other people.

There are far too many willing participants in prison, for you to be worrying about getting the ol' anal probe.
Maybe years ago there was something to worry about, but not the case most times today.
Youre biggest worry should be how the fuck youre going to afford your smoke in there...Cause thats the only raping I got inside!

Keep what you got out of sight, dont trust anybody(especially your roomie),dont share anything with anyone, dont EVER use the "n" word(even Nigga will get your ass kicked by as many blacks that can fit around you at the same time) and keep to yourself and you'll be fine.
And if you do end up in some shit, make sure you dont puss up. Having heart is your most valuable asset in prison.....it'll get you much respect,and will help you avoid most problems off the bat, believe me!

Most pot growers if they go to prison end up in a minimum security yard. The real problem is the fact that they can end up in county jail waiting to go to court locked up side by side with all the other felons waiting to go to trial. Most anyone who has spent any real time will tell you that county time is worse then prison. pot should not be illegal in any way what so ever. Putting ppl in jail or prison that smoke or sell pot is a worse crime then the pot which shoulnt be illegal.
