Follow Growing Goo's first grow! 150w HPS clones and seed

I dont think so, I have a friend that had that same idea and he still seemed to grow really good bud. Also I can't see why it would hurt it

Seems like carbonated water being full of CO2 wouldn't be the best to water them..oxygenated water would be more optimal..the leaves like the CO2 for photosynthisis..the roots need O2...like aeroponics where super O2 levels are delivered to the roots..my :2cents:

Packn2puff... I just joined your Fan Leaf club today! I twisted up some dried 5 pointers today, since I am DRY. However all I got was a headache. I came, I tried, I coughed, I cried, not worth it.

On the subject of carbonated water....Yes I agree, granted this was done just once, and before I found IC. :pointlaug

I am certain that I would have killed these plants by now if it hadn't been for IC. :bat:

Also, next time I do some dry ice, I will test the pH of the remaining carbonated water. Because of the carbonic acid created by the reaction in the water, I am expecting the pH to be quite low.

I am thinking that this CO2 water, combined with the already low pH of the Miracle Grow Acid nutes I was using, and the MG soil I started with, caused the nute lockout pH damage I was having a while ago.

gg - wow, how did I miss this thread? You're off to a good start, good info here. I have 2 goo clones that will go into the cabinet very soon, so I'm pulling up a seat.

I think you're doing great - learning fast. Good that you have 10' ceiling, I'm envious!

B.C.... Thanks for the compliments, my girls perked right up when they heard what you said! :woohoo:

As far as the pH problems, I know it is history now, but the scientist in me wants to know why! I have thought about it, and thought about it, but I had forgotten about the CO2 water until just the other day. :chin:

The Goo clones were acquired from my local club, and from what I hear, it is a popular strain here in No. Cali. I have yet to try it, it was the only strain available at the time. I have been trying to find out a little more information on them, but no luck yet. A few local growers I have spoken to say it is one of their favorites, so I made sure I got a few more clones off of the original clones before I put them into flower though, just in case I want to regrow the Goo. :sasmokin:

Mr Green Jeans... (I am showing my age, but yes, he was my hero on Capt Kang) Thanks for dropping by, I saw that you had a couple of Goo clones also. You might be living close by, who knows? :chin: Have you ever tried the Goo or have any information on it?

You are right about learning fast, I am trying! Since this is my first time, I did not want to learn at the expense of my girls health and yield. So I have spent some quality time here on IC lately, and I must say that it is easy to get information overload pretty quick! My main goal was to provide myself with enough medicine until next grow is done. So far everything is looking to be on target for harvest end of September. :yummy:

Take it easy!

gg - you're in the right place. ICMag is the shiznit for info and friendship. If you remember Capt K, then we are probably in the same age range!

I haven't found much out about goo either, but remember some folks raving about smoking it at one of the clubs, so I grabbed 2.

I think you'll be in good shape. My first grow was a little long due to my tinkering with the plants a bit much :pointlaug , but following advice from the good friends here I got enough to last me for a while. I bet you'll have the same good luck!

Hello Friends!

Here we are, another week has past, putting us at the 3 Week mark, or 21 days for those of you with metric system. Or would that be 1.5 Fortnights?
:bat:

Ok, still no noticeable odor, amazing. But I have a feeling that is going to change very soon. The frost is starting to set in on the leaves. OHHH it looks so pretty! I was starting to get worried because I had not seen but a few splotches of frost before.

I touched some and gave my finger a little sniff, MMMMM!!! MMMMM!!! GOOOD!!! :woohoo: It had a wonderful mixture of aromas that lit a smile across my face, and made me say outloud (I was alone at the time by the way), "Oh Yeah baby, thats what I'm talkin' bout" Yes I talk to my girls, but I know I am not the only one!

I also found out from the previous owner of my Goo clone, that flower time is 10 weeks on this strain. Longer than what I was hoping but oh well, that will give plenty of time for the frost to set in. :chin: Thats a harvest date of September 29th I am shooting for. :yummy:

Gosh this is so much fun! Here are the new pics! Enjoy!

Looks like you worked out the bugs just in time for flowering. Good luck on your first grow.
Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I believe that all the kinks are worked out, but there is still 6-7 weeks to go, so I am not letting my guard down just yet! :dueling:

Packn2puff -- "Don't tell me you went running around telling people to smell your finger..."

Yes, well, what can I say, most everybody was a good sport about it! :pointlaug

I am excited about some new clones I just received. Mendocino Madness, and Odyssey. Pics are coming soon... :lurk:

Hello Again!

As promised, here is a picture of my clone/mother cabinet. It is a work in progress, but getting there. I am awaiting some astrofoil insulation, and permanent lighting fixtures. Right now it has my old 150w HPS, and 2 - 150watt CFL. Cabinet has a 55 cfm exhuast fan that keeps temps around 84 degrees, with an outside temp of 80.

Enjoy!

Just make sure you water them. I almost killed my mothers a while back because I forgot.

Yes, that is for sure! I am wanting to try one of the grobots or "green genius" auto watering devices as a back-up. :chin:

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks! It sure is a break from some of the :fsu: I have been going through. I enjoy every moment of working with my plants! Even better, I get to share the experience with my father too. He came by to check out the plants in person, I think he was suprised how nice they looked. :yoinks:

Thanks for stopping by Sleepy! Check them out in a couple weeks OK?
