flouride bonds with enamel to make it harder. When mixed with even a mildly acidic solution can eat a hole in pyrex glass. Eat a lemon or somthing acidic then brush your teeth with a flouridated toothpaste, that odd feeling is your etched tooth enamel.

so it does more harm than good and the opposite of what it's intended for?

flouride is a bunch of crap. toothpaste is sufficient. Get it out of our water, it is hard to remove. Does RO remove flouride?

good question. i have often wondered that myself. i don't have that answer.

i will say however. STAY AWAY FROM FLOURIDE (even in toothpaste, i use tom's of maine natural without flouride)! i do not want any added chemicals to my food, water or medicine(vaccinations). people do not be fooled. added chemicals is never a good thing. there is a ton of info about flouride in the water on the interenet. all one has to do is google it. the one that comes to mind is the "flouride action network". look it up.

does it not help calcium to bond to your teeth though? can you just take calcium supplements and the enamel will just attract the calcium itself, does calcium tend to bond with enamal with the assitance of fluoride?
