See, that's the thing, I have no grow. I've never grown. Thats part of the reason I feel like such a poseur posting here. I want to start, my living situation just keeps changing. Soon I think I'll have enough money/time to build a cab. Until then, I guess I just have to deal with the scalpers that sell in FL.

I'm new around here also. The folks here are friendly and very helpful. If You haven't grown yet, do You have a game plan?

I call this plant " Lucy". Some sort of a "Charlie Brown's Christmas tree " :pointlaug variety

Well right now I was thinking about trying to grow in rubbermaid tubs while I build/plan a cabinet to grow in. I figure when I get the cab done I can order genetics and be ready to grow some awesome herbage. For these first couple grows in the tubs I was gonna do a soil scrog setup until I can get some skills at that. Eventually, I want to do a dwc scrog in five gallon buckets under a 400 or better. Should I even waste my time with the tubs or should I just build/buy a cab right out? I'm sure I want to grow, I really want to try and make this work, so it might just be better to go ahead with the cab. Plus I have to find a place to keep it. I share a bedroom with my gf and she would be really weird about having that in her closet, it'd be hard to deny that she knew what was growing in there.

Something strange happened today. When I tried to click the link to this thread, I kept getting sent to SeedBay. What's up with that? Anyway, it looks like things are back to normal here.

I think you will learn more and have a better chance of success if you start off right away with a proper cabinet and genetics. Skunk #1 and Northern Lights are good smoke, easy to grow, and cheap too. Get a few packs, it's no biggie if you mess up a grow or two. I got a couple ounces out of my first grow, but I had to move it outside to flower because it was a Jamaican sativa bagseed that didn't grow well indoors.

I was asked in a PM about good strains for indoor cultivation, especially for a Newbie gardener. I think the reply is worth sharing.

Skunk #1 and Northern Lights are great strains to start with. They are cheap, but easy to grow and nice to smoke. If you want a dank smelling indica, spend a few bucks extra for THSeeds Original Bubble Gum. I grew that one and I have photos to show how easily it cloned. Skunk #1 and NL have the same rep for easy cloning.

Let me illustrate how much of a difference genetics can make in your success as a grower. I cloned some THSeeds Original Bubble Gum and Heavy Duty Fruity, also from T.H. Seeds. I started them on the same day. Here are a couple photos taken on another day.

THSeeds Original Bubble Gum

THSeeds Heavy Duty Fruity (compact pheno)

Don't get me wrong, HDF is a great strain. It's super potent with a heavy yield. This pheno just needs extra time, skill, and care to root. My first grow was bagseed and it was even worse. I thought I would never be able to clone. They don't clone in Jamaica, so they obviously don't select for ease of cloning when they breed.

Agreed! This bagseed sativa stretched faster than I could move the lights up I moved her to the closet where I was able to tie it down a bit and hopefully give it more light. We will see if it helps. In the mean time I plan to start over. I learned a lot this 1st round and see many ways to improve.

I think I'm gonna try BOG's soil mix method. I've heard good things about that. Anyone have any other ideas, though?

Bog's is very good! There are so many wonderful methods of growing.
Happy Growing!
