Hi guys I am in central Florida and I have one plant outside but it is a male Ducksfoot.

I got two female Ducksfoot ready to go out any time now.

But can someone please tell me in detail how the outdoor seasons work in Florida cause I have heard alot of different things.

I just wanna veg indoors and flower outdoors all year.

When can I put plants out to flower and when can I not.

Thanks

Syrinx, sativas, like Ducksfoot, will probably veg in Florida from at least May through August. Put them out after August, but before February. If you wait until March, then it might start to revert back to veg before it completely finishes. You would then have to wait until the fall for the harvest or cut it down early and just make hash or honey oil or something.

In order to flower in the spring/summer, you need a strain that finishes early. Be careful though. Most early strains are indica, and indicas tend to have the kind of dense buds that are prone to mold in our rainy summers. TFD Early Durban for example, is a sativa that should flower in the summer.

If you have some clones ready to go right now, I would go ahead and put them outside along with your male and let them grow. If they get too big before they flower, you could always cut them down and make Cannabutter. Ducksfoot is great in veg because it's so stealthy before it starts to flower. I've been talking to a friend of mine with a sunny backyard who might plant some Ducksfoot and either sell the leaves to me or trade it for half the Cannabutter it makes.

Ok based on what I have gathered:

Plants in Florida will flower anytime of the year except from say April 20 to August 1rst?

From April 20th roughly plants will veg until August?

I dont mind having a couple of monster Ducksfoot plants so I will put out my two females on 4/20 and let them veg as long as it takes for the light to change to flowering period.

Was thinking also about toying around with some outdoor masterlow or powerstout for stealth reasons.

Anyone in Florida ever grow those out yet?

The exact days for veg and flower vary depending on the strain. Indicas usually have a shorter veg time than sativas. In fact, I've flowered an indica right through the summer solstice. It finished around the middle of July.

Thats just it though I am trying to get a sense of when is the right times to put plants out for flowering.

Your saying you flowered an indica outdoors right through to July kind of got me confused since the sunlight is technically appropriate for vegging only according to that chart during that time period of April 20th to August 24.

I think I understand what you mean.

You are saying that a given plant may veg quickly in these months and flower regardless of whether it is past August 24th or not simply because it is completing it's life cycle.

Hell if thats the case I might order up some good indicas and put them out this summer too.

What's happnin' guys? Hope everyone had a good 420. Anyway I'm a noob and starting my first grow this year outdoors. Just ordered some AFR- Durban Poison and BOG - Lifesaver. I hope they'll do well here with all our heat and humidity. Any of yall grown these out before? Are there any pointers I should know about growing outside in FL? I think I've got a good fundamental knowledge from reading a lot on OG but I still have no experience. Also, I'm planning on trying the water curing technique. Have any of you tried it?

Welcome and good luck with your grows.

Pointers are tough to come by really for specific issues with Florida.

Guess it's more trial and error for most of us than anything.

Have not had a harvest yet so I cannot comment on water curing.

Always our good old friend mr search button though.

Keep us posted occasionally bro.
