You should be fine, the only problem is keeping them fed and watered through the August and September heat, and G-d forbid - any hurricanes. You growing close to your house/location? Then you should be just fine. If you are lugging water/food to a hidden location, then put that into your equation.

Yea I'm worried about canes. For you guys who grew back in 04, did you just lose crops or were you running a generator? My Kali's are almost done and considering the height of cane season is approaching, I'm debating on whether I should postpone my next grow for a couple months as I don't have the extra cash to buy even a cheap generator

Ya, even in January you'll be ok if you can bring them in when its a frost warning. I had some w'widow outside this past winter that turn dark purple from the cold, like an eggplant.
As Slowcalatoker said, if you're doing this near your crib then watering isnt really a problem.
I keep shit outside year round and its all good. Just make sure they get ALOT of water during th summer, like right now.
The 2 gf/bb I have outside are in 5gallon containers with coco and they drink over 6 gallons of nuted water a day...each. Soil would require less watering obviously.
Put 'em outside in 3 weeks and watch the big hps in the sky blow them up!
