Whiteflies are way easier to deal with than most other pest just stay on top of it. Ive used pyganic to get rid of them completely in the past. I was the pyganic 5.0 and i wouldnt spray after week 2. Use only 1/4 oz per gallon and 3 sprays 3 days apart and they should be done. If your past week 2 put up SHITLOADS of sticky fly traps and shake them a lot. Ive used ladybugs and they work but they end up dead everywhere. If your not using aircooled reflectors they kamakazi themselves into the bulbs and burn up so dont bother if no aircooled. And if you have any hibiscus in your yard check them out thats the likely place they came from. Spray the shit out of them outside too so you dont get them again. I got them from a hibiscus that was right outside the front door and it was white not even a hint of green from them being so bad. The killed that hibiscus. And I finally bought a good sprayer its a chapin 1949 and it was expensive like $100 but so much better than the cheapo big box store sprayers.

Thanks for all the advice on the whiteflies and the positive vibes, it gives me hope that I can tackle them like I did the fungus gnats. I don't know where they came from, it's FL, so they're everywhere outside. I don't have any kind of damage to the plants like the sticky mold or sappy honeydew, so they're not that bad, but I'm pretty OCD about my garden. The plants are all in soil.

I'll keep up the spraying, sounds like I'm on the right track. And I'm glad to hear you guys have used beneficial bugs with positive results. If another 2 weeks of spraying doesn't do it, I'll get some.

Can whiteflies be eliminated from a garden indoors? Or can they only really be managed, and the only real way to eliminate them is to tear down the entire garden, remove all plants, treat the room, etc and start over from seeds? Currently there is probably a 1 in 5 chance that when you flip a lower leaf over, you'll see a single white fly and some eggs. Shaking a plant will cause 3-4 to flutter up and re-land.

I haven't tried predatory bugs or parasites yet, but I have been using sticky traps (which do like nothing), Pyrethrin Garden Insect Spray (Works good, has to be on contact), and Doktor Doom fogger (works great at killing already alive adults, doesn't get the eggs though). I'm wondering what I should do, because they definately cause damage to my plants from all the holes and sucking. My plants are already stressed from heat, the bugs just complicate things even more.

To be perfectly honest though, I haven't done the 3-3-3 method completely yet, it's a REAL pain to pull every plant out of the room, into somewhere it can be sprayed, and then let them dry and put them back, all while having to interrupt the light cycle for a day each time.

Looking for advice on those that have used the predatory bugs before and/or eradicated white flies successfully before.
Them lil bastards are tough!!!! But I won the war. The main issue is the eggs...they lay ALOT of them. I went nuclear and solved the problem. You can use Avid or Bifen or whatever to kill the ones ya see flying around. But for the eggs you need to add an IG regulator...the stuff you would also use for a flea infestation in your home.

I used Bifen, an IG regulator and some spreader sticker. By by Whiteflies. Use ONLY in veg though.

All this talk of bugs has me nervous

All this talk of bugs has me nervous

Not gonna put pics of all of them here, check my cab thread.
35 days into flower, these will go for 80-90.

Fingers crossed but no sign of any bugs so far, but I've been diligent about pulling them and spraying them regularly. Last spray (alcohol & peroxide) yesterday, anything from here on out will get a pyretherin bomb.

Had a hell of a time trying to keep these all the same height, almost every one had one or two branches that ran away from the rest.

Excuse my ignorance on outdoor grows but friend is doing one this year.Is the reason you are growing them at a slant is to keep the final height as low as possible?

Great pics @flboy.
Interesting that you are planting them close to the edge of the pot. In my ignorance I would have probably just planted them in the middle. Close to the edge allows better air flow and easier tying down?

Excuse my outdo' ignorance....but wouldnt smaller pots be more effective if the 14' height is the concern?

Im with wcs...monsters.

the mix should feed for 4 1/5 to 5 months in these pots. i put them in this way to have them grow across the ground instead of growing straight up. i am wanting to try and see if this keeps them a little lower than 14' up. smaller pots would just get root bound which means i would have to hand feed not a good option for me plus the other things that come with root bound plants

i don't think they will be as big as last season. plus i started later this time but time will tell

peace

Big thanks to Unreg. Sent me some Darlin's net beans a while back.

Decided to pop them and see what happens.

Less than 24 hours and 9 of 10 have cracked and are in Rockwool and the 10th cracked overnight last night so 100% germ rate on the beans. Now lets see if they all sprout.

Debating maybe running these 12/12 from seed since last run was so messed up. Well not true 12/12 from seed still have about 10 days till I harvest what's growing now so I can sanitize before putting these in there.

Seems to be some fire in them seeds RR, mine are @ 3 weeks flower now. Check out the Darlin's Net thread.

Pics or it didn't happen, lol...... I thinking about putting mine outside and then taking cuts from those to keep around for when I can run them. The fast(er) finish time on them will work good for outside where I'm at. Some of us have weather to worry about, that gets below the freezing 50f you guys whine about:mooning:
