So a good friend hooked me up with some GG#4 cuts. Hopefully that will give me some plants to flower sooner than the plants from seed. Also if anyone is looking to pick up some seeds hit me up I have too many strains in the vault.

"not as good as shaking that male onto a female in real time"
that's what I had been doing. It's a lot easier I think but you have to have your timing just right.

Another note and some ideas that might help you guys out if you're pollen chucking.... Normally males show themselves way before the females and it can be a challenge if you're working with multiple strains and don't want to cross contaminate them.

So when I identify the males, I normally move them back into the areas with supplemental (vegetative) lighting right away and let the females further develop for another 7-14 days.

At that point the female flowers are really starting to show and I then move the males back to the flowering area (12/12) and in another 7-14 days its go time.

If I have multiple strains going (I don't recommend this but if you have enough space I've pulled it off before) then assess your plants and pollinate the fastest developing first, then wait a week and so on and so forth. I pulled off three different strains in one season (hey we have long seasons down here) a couple years ago, but it was major work and the weather cooperated very nicely that year.

If it's windy and your males are dropping pollen, more than likely they are going to knock everything up. I've had years when I've killed every male in sight and still ended up with seeds cause somebody somewhere let a male go - pollen can travel long distances so you may also be fucking up somebody else's grow whether you meant to or not.

Now the other thing you have to understand is that it's difficult to harvest for the best smoke and best seeds at the same time. IMHO you need to decide if you want one or the other cause achieving both is very difficult in my experience.

I usually make a ton of seed for every cross even if using 2-3 different females, because I want to maximize the opportunity to make good, viable seed. Some people will only pollinate the lower branches and that may work indoors, but outside if you have flowers and pollen it's probably going to end up everywhere.

I let the seeded plants go much longer (75-80 days for Indicas - haven't really done much with pure Sativas yet) and let them get shitty looking and often much of the plant is unusable but I get a ton of viable seed. When you touch the plant and you can hear the seeds drop, you're getting very close to harvest time.

I've tried the combination harvest (harvest seed and save the smoke) but that usually gets me a lot of seed that looks good but doesn't germinate even though it passes the pinch test.

Weather is taking a turn for the worse so I hauled this girl inside today and will chop her tomorrow. This plant and buds look much better than what I grew last spring, still don't know about the smoke but I'm encouraged to try her again.

"Any Advise from the home state growers would be nice"

Aspen, wish I could give you some solid advise sista but, I grow mostly organically. I'd be all like hit them with a top dress of EWC slurry and alternate an AACT then Nutrient Tea and you'd be all like E.C.? P.P.M? pH? and we'd be speaking a different language... Your plants are looking good though.:)

Bugman, Looking real good there kind sir... thanks for the advise.

DP, good looking out. The last pollination seed run I did was in the tent. I took 3 sssdhxjack males and 3 females -->(2 sssdhxjack and 1 vrnl5/haze) and left them in there until seeds were popping out of the buds. I made so many seeds that run that I still have a huge lot and I've done 2-3 runs of 20+ each cross. BTW those BtB plants look outstanding.

GrownOut, yes please. Also, I still have a metric shit ton of those sssdhxjack f3's (the ones where the frosty male came from) if you are ( or anyone reading this is ) interested?

if you could get a few more close up pics of the damaged leaves it may be easier to help. some damage appears to look like nute burn spots, yellowing of mature leaves from the tips inward and some leaves look green down the middle and yellowing on the outside.

are you using tap or r/o?

positivly ID the problem before attempting anything other than plain ph'd water.

i know others are much more qualified to offer advice and im sure they will chime in.

I don't know the history of those clones so....
Whatever strength nutrients you were feeding the mom, that's what you should be feeding the clones. Try that & see if they green up more. That's all i can come up with

Cobia, Buckets you got that right no idea when it comes to ORGANICS! lol I do want to try but i ll stick with my bucket of Nutes for the time being!

Morcheeba, Ass lover Ill get some more pics up later today, I have GG4, Darlings Net and Glue Breath here. Im growing in Pro Mix HP with Air pots and using V+B Dirty and MB Ferts V/H Booster at 1.0 ec now. My friend Dan knows the history of the moms used so he is kinda been my guiding light, So on his advise i Mixed up my nutes to 1.0ec added a TSP of epsom salts then blended back down to 1.0 ec and ph it to 5.2 and fed them again, Dan sees a Mg DEFF so that's why i added the epsom! I can use ro water but i have been using my well water filtered because my ro filter is so damn slow
Thank you all for you response I was starting to think i offended someone somehow, This being my first real grow ill need you advice and guidance not to mention some moral support!

i too think it could be Mg from looking at Joe fresh's guide to sick plants but not sure.

how quick did the damage take to show?

how is your well h2o filtered and do you have a water softener?

The damage started just before the left the Turbo Klone, today makes it 7 days in the pro mix, I have a 5 micron sediment filter with no water softener, i'm thinking i need to go with ro, my filtered water comes out at 158 ppm
Thank you Morcheeba:tiphat:

158 ppm is lower than my tap but the question is what is the 158ppm chemical make up?

give us a ph run off reading. when i grew in promix only i ran at 6 - 6.3 and never had plants look like that. i seen how long you let the roots get in the cloner do you add a lite dose of nut's in it. are they feeding (drying the pot) after watering every couple days if not then obvious you have a lock out going on. that is why dan is more than likely telling you to water at a low ph.
