What is the safest way to post photos here? Not sure if the site hosts / strips EXIF, etc. Can someone link me to a tutorial that is current? Wouldn't mind contributing.

I just always strip EXIF with a free converter...but my camera is not gps capable anyway so really do not worry about it too much.

buckets....is that a cichlid? if so didn't realize they will adapt to a pond. cool

Thanks Huey :tiphat:, but I still have a long way to go compared to you long time growers.

Glad you stopped by :dance013:, and hope to see you around this thread more often.

I have a random question for you guys. I talked to an old friend yesterday and they told me about a friend they had that grew in South Florida like 10 or so years ago. He said that this person would rent out a whole house, live in one room and then every other room would be a grow room. The part that confused the shit out of me was that they said he never used the a/c, just fans to vent and circulate air. I kind of got the impression that there wasn't co2 involved, but I didn't want to let this person know that I knew anything about growing and thought co2 would be suspicious.

Is that shit possible? I was thinking it could be with the right sativa and very good ventilation, but this guy was growing for profit and I just don't see someone growing a strain that takes a few months to flower.

im sure it posable, i dont use ac just fans.
but any time u r pulling in fresh air ,u r also taking in co2,by blowing air out ,venting u r removing o2& co2.
u realy neen a closed room system to use co2.

If the flower room is on from 8pm to 8 am it's a lot easier to manage the heat, along with constant exhaust and intake. I run a second fan that exhausts most of the lights heat through cool tubes as well. In the winter the cool tube exhaust is used for heat at night.

Co2 is usually about 300-350 ppm in outdoor air. Seems like a massive difference from 1200-1500ppm that is recommended as optimum, but I wasn't exactly disappointed with yield. I usually run sealed with Co2, but didn't want to install a.c. at this temporary spot. Another consideration is that outdoor plants do fine without additional C02 and I wanted to see the difference. 10 -15% difference maybe, no weights taken only visual estimation.

@bug, interesting set up with the baking soda and vinegar. I'd be interested in seeing how much co2 it produces. I have a c02 meter in a grow without supplemental co2 and I was surprised at how much co2 I was adding from my bad breath just looking at the plants for 4-5 minutes. It would go up to 8-900 ppm from 300ppm normally. This was with fans still exhausting. (2 six inch vortex's in a 3' x 12' room eight foot tall.

So, my first picture.

Question:
These 3 clones were taken at the same time, from a group of 20, and only these survived. All looked the same when they went into the system, but clearly the back right is dominating compared to the others. Just topped the big one today. Would you just do a new lid with a single hole, take the back right one, move to this new lid, and get rid of the other 2? Planning to scrog, so figure that might be a better choice than doing all 3 of these since the other 2 are so weak. The roots all look similar which is interesting.

This is inside a 2x2.5x6 tent. Currently just a 250w CFL batwing in there, but will be fabricating a custom reflector with 600 true watts of CFL for flower.
Thanks in advance!

unreg I got 5 words and 6 exclamation points!

chasing green you're going to have as much heat and power draw with 600 true watts of cfl as you would with a 600w hps and not much penetration on a cfl, and a 2x2 space I'd go with just the one plant if youre scrogging

stihg let me see your exhaust setup, if you can step back and get a wide open shot of the whole area so I can get a full view of how its setup maybe we can dial the temps in

ok looks about right, I'd move the inline fan to the back corner, raise the light maybe 6" more and close every flap except whichever is furthest from the corner the fan is in. also shorten the duct on the fan as much as possible. grab a scrubber asap and once you do try to find a way to dump the exhaust out of the room, you'll get more fresh air and happier plants and unless you live a mile from anyone in any direction bubba will reek your whole shit up once she starts blooming, no way in hell should you run her without one
