While i feel the same......don't wanna see any one popped for their grow...........how much danger where those kids in a house with rigged electric????That is a danger to their well being.

I say leave the grow out of it(but we know that ain't gonna happen) and charge them with child endangerment for risking not only their own lives but risking the kids lives.....i get irritated when what are supposed to be grown people do stupid shit involving kids.Dumb fuckers

that's one of the things i'm impressed with fd, the nodes are pretty tight, I was expecting stretching but they seem to like the the bloom spec. in all honesty,it was a used panel I grabbed for cheap, didn't realize the kelvin of the bulbs til I got it home

What ya'll fools know bout that 3 leaf birthmark?

lol no but for real, since i barely post pics here i thought what better time than the giving season?

I got some sort of local outdro a couple months back, i don't think i took any pics, lightly compressed, some sorta indica. It was real strong but otherwise not much special to me. anyway's i found a few seeds, 13 to be exact. 8 were identical, so same pollen. the next 5 varied. 3 might have been from the same pollen donor or a sibling, or just immature. the last 2 were definitely different. a second or third donor.

anyway i popped one seed like i sometimes do when i'm running a test to have some bagseed to grow along in case i don't like whatever. It came up male, wamp wamp wamp! but i like the looks of it and the limey piney smell so i kept it. eventually it matured and the flower formation told me i def had to see what else was with these beans. so i popped 6 more mostly to test these root tiots since i've lost a lotta seeds in this cool weather. only 5 came up.

nothing really stood out till week 2 when i was doing a watering and decided to do some leaf rubbing. one stood out to me which i call sport now, real fruity berry scent. very lovely. i stuck a pin in that one. literally stuck a pin in there so i would remember which one it was.
another week later and i'm gonna be going outta town for a week, need to up pot my plants cuz i won't be around to water. i had on my gloves and i was about to take em off to do another scratch and sniff, but i was like fuck it, i'm just gonna do an air sniff to see if anything is standout.

picture.php

wow! these 2. especially the runty one on the right. easily half the size of everything else. but man i took the runt out to sniff and goddamn, the first thought to my mind was...FUCK!!!!!!! how the fuck am i gonna contain THAT fucking smell? urgh... i pull out the second one, same stenchy funk, this is just 3 weeks veg and i'm already panicking. haven't done that in many many moons.

picture.php

These next 2 don't really smell much, they smell too but it's very faint. these 2 aren't really stenchy, if i rub my nose right on the stem where the branches are (the armpit lol) i smell a funky smell, but it's not like a rotting smell, it's more like a really strong fruity smell. so strong it kinda stinks. you know what i mean?
the paler one is real unique, i can almost swear i smell coconuts. it's a similar type of tropical smell on the more indica (wider leaf) plant. but less pronounced. i nicknamed em AJ (almond joy) and MO (mounds) for now.

picture.php

this one is the odd man out, i see at least 4 distinct phenos out of these 5 seeds. 3 are tall and one short. the tall phenos have both sativa and indica traits, but you can clearly see the influences of the 2 parents in the seedlings. some have a more spiky maple leaf type of wide indica leaf, and some have that kush leaf (3 leaf birthmark) shape. the shortest one is the most "kush" leaning looking one. some are pale and some are very dark. one is fruity, one is really skunky. the traits spread across this spectrum

one of the tallest ones had the widest leaf, the other really tall one has the most narrow leaf. all over the place, some wide, some narrow, some short, some funky, some fruity. various amounts of everything in each one. but the sport pheno as i'm calling it for now is completely different from all the rest. it's like an even combination of all the other traits. it's medium height, kinda smelly, kinda fruity, medium leaves, wide but spread far like sativa.

i have no idea what this cross could possibly but based on what i've read and seen in my years i'd say it's some sort of kush crossed to a blue family descendant. it's got the kush leaves, the kush smell, the one with the kushiest leaves (tightest 3 finger salute) is also the smelliest one. on the blue influence you can see it in the long middle fingers like every blue relative i've ever seen. got that light fruity smell and goes purple easily when hungry.

picture.php

This is the male i found. oddly enough it is the one with the most 3 finger nodes. first 3 nodes are 3 finger, the other plants did 2 nodes at most before going to 5. this one did 2 nodes with 3, and one with 3 on one side and barely a 4th on the other side. smells the least of everything. even on stem rub it's a faint berry funky with lemon. juuuuust barely barely noticeable. barely. hoping the funk means girls.

anyway that's my christmas tale. i'll keep ya updated on what turns up. i'll be back later to show off the rest of the stable. found a really nice purple male to go with my wbk. hopefully i can extend the purple past the leaves stems and a touch more on buds.

Stihg,

I was gonna play a dirty trick but i have no cam at the moment to do so :)

I was gonna show pics of my wfa8, which has the odd coloring birthmark that he shows in the Jippy thread, but it doesn't have the 3 leaf sets. Was gonna cut the extra blades off so it only had three (and leave them laying on the ground in the pic to see if anyone caught on :) ) and say he sent me the cut.

Dick move i know but i figured it would get a chuckle at least.

I stumbled onto one of SupraSPL's threads about his LED builds and got hooked myself. I built a 100W light fixture with Cree 3590 COB's for the cab I start seed in and that was pretty simple and produces more light with less heat and less than half of the power consumption than the CFL fixture I was using.

So then I got all cocky and offered to build an array for a buddy. He's not a cropper and just uses a 3x3 tent for SOG grows so I'm building an array with 4 50W 3070 COB's supplemented with 21 specific spectrum red/blue 3w.

Final cost will be about $700 but it should last him for years and the power and heat savings are what we were really after for his particular situation.

I'm taking my time to build it right and the poor guy is like a kid waiting for Santy Claus

I hear ya. Ya I threw mine together. It was a bitch soldering every wire and I made the mistake on the Flowering array to having to screw each diode/board down. Ware on my veg. array I ordered double sided thermal tape they were cut perfectly to fit the boards and I just stuck them down no problem.

The Flowering Array is like a Tunnel with the back against the wall with Mylar and the front is open. This array surrounds the plants.
Ware the Veg. array is just over head.

I feel LEDS work just as well as any hid. But the Energy use is close to the same as the yield. But like you said there is barley any heat and there is no spectrum shift and the diodes will last 50,000 hours. I haven't had one driver problem. But of course there is the cost. I think by the time I build the Flowering array I was at about 3k and the Veg. was about 1k so that is allot more expensive initially then Hid but over the course of their life it should offset the expense due to no bulb replacement.

Flower Array= 75%Red 25%Blue 4x 4300k White and 4x Infarred (Dont remember exact NM I would have to go back and look them up its been some time)

Veg. 160 4300k Diodes Played with with the Placement of the Diodes it didnt really make a difference. I figured with Veg a MH shine basicly white to me. So I thought why not skip trying to run Blues and Reds individually why not just run a white Diode and it has worked Flawless.

A/L I have done the same thing. I replace them as they blow. Im sure they all could use it though. I know from Marine aquariums flor's should changed out every 8-10 months. Just from color shift alone.

stihg, lucky bag seeds find bro. I love that curvy/ lobster claw look. reminds me of nl5 or that diesel trait to the side fingers like that...

I don't have enough room for t5's here. I just use two 65 watt spiral cfl's from Ace... they take up less head room but blast some light ... they sell them in 3 different colors 2700, 4500, and 6500 or something like that.

now you two are just showing off your crazy brain skills with those led rigs ...
Respect and mad love going out to all my FL brothers. stay safe ... and, fwiw I agree that no one should be criminalized for growing a plant. When this all becomes out of the shadows and into the legal light Florida will show exactly where we stand when it comes to horticulture.

buckets,

i used a 400w MH in veg for a bit but it produced way too much heat so i put a HPS bulb back in and now i just have the pl-l's and a few cfl.

peace

stih don't try to front like you got the iggy og, you either cat. its held tighter than the one ring when Gollum had it, its so hoarded it's family called TLC to intervene and clean its house out before the county steps in, it's so rare that statistically you have a better chance of being attacked by an aggressive unicorn (rarer due to the docile nature of the majority of unicorns historically)twice than acquiring a cut of the iggy. Feast your eyes on magnificence gentlemen
