First time DWC grow

Hydro: Yeah just did it like you said with the net pot and the cd deal for the pattern. I did 1 last night (have to upload pics still) and will be doing the other one hopefully tonight. so big ups for the idea and for showing me the way. I will get some new pics up asap.

Sorry for the delay (if anyones watching) been busy with the holiday season.
So anyways like I said in my last post I got some lids for my 5gallon buckets with some 4inch net pots...did like Hydro said and cut out the lids for the net pots.




Pretty simple stuff....but effective. The smaller pots use way less hydroton .....just waiting to see how the handle the larger plants.....but other folks seems to have good luck with them so hopefully I will as well.

I put this W/W clone in the bucket 12/17....and here are some pics of her in the "NEW" 4inch pot.








Also I have 3 other DWC W/W in 12/12 I took some pics of the oldest one (put in around dec. 2) its at about 20 days bloom. Running lucas formula 1315 ppm, 5.5ph, also using koolbloom powder at 1/2tsp per gallon. The pics arent that good (still looking for some help or link to help on the camera stuff) but you'll get the idea. She is coming along nicely. I vegged her for about 2 1/2 weeks and trimmed and super cropped before switching to 12/12 (also have trimmed under the skirt once since then)
This is officially my first DWC plant.......and Im pretty happy with the results. Let me know what ya'll think..








So Im gonna try and put 1 more clone in the new bucket tonight (I took some super nice tops from the best lady before putting into bloom and they are rooting super nice so time to plant one of them) and take some pics.

Hey Delane1 thanks for taking a peek......You know whats crazy??? I was just reading some posts from you for the first time (post about some leaf discoloration at 21 days...or something like that I'll have to check). Hope you are having some better luck with those issues. (Are you??) I didnt post a response to that post cuz I dont have any better info than what has already been posted.

Ok Ladies I have a issue to discuss. With this being my first go with DWC I am having 1 or 2 issues.

First, in case you havent read this post before, I am attempting to use the Lucas Method for Veg and Bloom...with that being said there is this one plant that I (being a smoker) am having an issue with. Lets call her #1. Well I check the ppm as of 12/19 on girl #1 and it was over 2k (remind you that I am NOT running a res) so I added some water (about 1.5 gallon to make total of 2.5-3 gallons of solution in 5 gallon bucket). This brought ppm down to 1357ppm and ph to 5.6ph.
Checked again today 12/23 and ppm again over 2000.....so I did a total water/chem/solution change in the bucket. (Damn I had to edit) After chem/water change the readings are as follows: 1570ppm and 5.7ph for about 3 gallons of solution in 5 gallon bucket.

I also trimmed the shitznit out of the lil lady cuz a lot of the branches not looking like they would do much (this plant is in bloom ((started around 12/9)) for about 1 1/2 weeks)

Its funny cuz the tops look much more bunched up (not as spread out) than anything I have grown before....I am gonna go ahead and finish her out and see what happens.......I assume its from the high ppm levels in early flower. So here are a couple of pics from today after I trimmed the hell out of her. Ill keep ya'll updated on her progress over the next month and a half before pulling her.





We shall see.

Oh yeah I have two more DWC W/W girls in Veg they were both planted between 12/1 and 12/4....my bad on not keeping the dates straight I PROMISE that I will do better in the future. So I guess they are about 19-22 days out of clone machine.

ya I'm having better luck now. Using less nutes. I think I was burning them up?? Had ppm 800-1500 and never did a change out. now doing change outs.

Yea, you gotta do a change out of the water. Otherwise unused nutes build up and spike your PPM. Its a good rule of thumb to flush every couple weeks ;-)

Spo: Yeah I changed the water out last night. Checked it just now and the ppms were still around 1500 which is where they were last night. Good rule of thumb, if all else fails start over, seems to work okay for me. Wish I would have check it sooner though. I knew something was funny with it but just let it go.....so we shall see. She looks pretty decent tonight.

Well I had some extra time just now and I decided to set up another bucket for veg. This clone is about 12 days (since being cut) I had her in an EZ Cloner. Nice roots, you cant tell but the roots are super white. Actually this is a top off of my best W/W and she rooted nicely. Im gonna call her #7.

So I'll keep ya'll updated with photos.







Oh yeah and the oldest girl in bloom is showing up nicely....nice trichs nice growth.........I'm loving this DWC deal..........

1 more quick question, am I the only one reading my post or what??? Not sure what it takes to get some love around here but... I am patiently waiting.

Anyways enough about me and my personal issues..............

How far should I have my 1k away from the plants? I've been reading everything possible and I have noticed that peeps seem to be keeping there lights pretty high. Mine is on a 6ft mover (moving about 4ft with the stops set where I need them) and I keep it about 6-8 inches from the top of the largest plant, with no burning. I would really like to grow some super fat buds with my first shot at hydro and was hoping for optimum conditions. So what are ya'll doing, in some peoples pics I cant even see there light in the pic. What about stretching??

Having a light mover allows you to keep the light closer than if it was stationary. I would say you are about as close as you can safely get without an air-cooled hood....

Spo: I forgot to mention I do have an aircooled 1000 watt light on a mover. I mean I know that the closer you keep the light its supposed to be better, but I want the upward growth as well. Is there a average I should be going for? I'll post some pics of the lil ladies asap.

Looking nice Hhm19...Gotta love the DWC...I use 10 gallon rectangular tubs to let my roots really roam...they are actually shorter than 5 gallon buckets, so they take up less space vertically...Happy Holidays.

i run the occational single DWC i like it very much as an efficient way of growing. have this hawaiian skunk in a DWC day 24 or something dunno really, its getting abit hungry you can see here, i have been slacking during the holidaze.

its just a 10 litre bucket, cheap aquarium pump with 2 airoutlets on. this hawaiian skunk in the bucket has kinda exploded on me during the holidaze, getting pretty big.

ill be lurking mate. keep up the good work
