Like oneshot, I'm curious....!!
Veg time ? Strains ? Lights ?
Are the plants in flower standing in like, half a tub of water ?!!??

Looking good though, I'll be watching !!

I just noticed that too. Maybe he does that so the res in the cups is constantly full? Those plants must be drinking from those beer cups like crazy. Probably easier this way?

Thanks for checking in, folks. Here's the lowdown:

Random bagseeds (still too chicken to order say, some AK48 or Northern Lights) started in early January and vegged for two weeks before going 12/12. Only three out of 10 were female and I grew out three clones from them which you can see in the left side of the cab. The three in the flower side obviously overgrew so I bent the stem over on two and topped the third.
The beer cups are filled with a 75% perlite/25% vermiculite mixture with a small drain hole about an inch from the bottom.
The nutes are from the Flora Nova Recipe for Success kit. I've learned that hempy takes almost daily watering so I have the cups contained in plastic boxes that I can fill above the drain holes if I want to take a break from the daily regimen or go out of town.
The lights are five 23 watt cfl warm white bulbs in the flower room and two cool white 23 watt cfls in the veg side. The chamber in between the veg and flower sides is a drying room/light trap setup. The air intakes from the veg side, draws through a double wall into the drying room and exits into the flower room through another double wall before being draw into the utility room and out the back of the cab. The whole thing is a variation of the NGB cab and the one created by Anti a couple of years ago. The intake to exhaust ratio is 2:1 and the cab mostly stays in the high 60s to low 80s.
Nothing new here; just want some decent smoke while trying to avoid dealers.

I think you´ll do better w the clones, because you can get dialed in on how much this strain stretches, (a bit, by the looks of it) and then you can start one clone in 12/12 at, say, 1", one at 2", one at 3", etc. That way you can see at what height you have to start them, to get them to finish at their optimal height, with as little stem and as much bud as possible.....
Eager to see more !!!!

Oh, by the way...
If it was to me to call the shots, I'd definately go for the pheno in the middle of the first picture.....

Thanks for the great info Tatz. You're right, I did veg too long and things got out of control fast! All three plants were from the same bagseeds but I topped the middle plant early so it fits the cab nicely.
I started smoking some of the popcorn buds last weekend and I'm quite satisfied... a nice uppy daytime smoke. I participated in the Global Marijuana March on Saturday and had a nice buzz going!

You're ever so welcome gr8 bud ! I thought I knew my bit about the Herb be4 ICMag, found myself to be só wrong ! I learned a lot because people here share the hard earned experiences they've made.
There is so much trolling.
I just like to do my part in sharing knowledge, based on all those growers' efforts.

By the by Gr8fulhead, how long time can you avoid watering ? That is my only argument against hempybuckets. The watering. I've been designing this cab for the last months, roughly 40cm(D) x60cm(W) x100cm(H). It will provide me with 1 plant or 5-6 Dr.Budsickles every 3 weeks w a 9 week strain. I'm going DWC there, had spidermites in soil in my first cab.

If I fill the plastic boxes about 1 1/2 inches above the drain holes of the beer cups I can leave it for about a week. Not really that good for the plants but not catastrophic either. I'm going to have to do this next week as I'll be out of town for several days. I harvested one of the top colas from the topped plant and it's in the drying chamber now. After a couple of days I'll trim it into nugs and jar it up for a short cure. Short because I'm impatient and I need some smoke for the road trip to go with my jamband music fixation. Pot and Panic!

Nice little grow setup. I was curious how big I could grow my clones in a hempy cup. I usually chicken out and transplant at about a foot to hempybuckets. It's crazy how good of a root system you can get in one of those cups.

Tnx Gr8, what do you mean, it's not so good for the ladies ?
I really would've liked to be able to make things automatic, leaving me as much time as possible to attend my girls and enjoy the fruit of my labours.....

Tatz...I think that since hempy is passive hydroponic that the water level needs to subside a little to get air to the lower roots or else they'll drown like overwatered soil. Just a guess though.
