First real grow room

Made some progress on my veg cabinet. Still gotta put some doors on, throw the 4ft T5 in, air flow, and test for light leaks. Was able to use leftover plywood from building the room.

Hey Kizane, sorry for the delay. Haven't had a chance to get on here lately. I'm far from a seasoned grow pro... just a guy that reads a lot and takes his sweet time.

That said, if I personally was restricted to a 6x6 space I probably wouldn't try to do a perpetual grow. If I had to though, I would build a 3x3 cabinet in the bottom right corner of your diagram. Not sure what media or system you'd plan on using for your veg cab. I'm planning on using 10 gallon storage containers with 3 babies in each. You'd be able to fit two no prob as they're typically about 16"x24". Or do one for babies and then use the rest of the space for a mother.

Basic needs would be flat white paint or reflectix (see pic below), two small oscillating fans, T5's to cover as much surface area as possible, small 4" fan and filter with ducting venting not into the main room but outside of it, and an 8" darkroom louver for your passive intake. You could probably get away with something less elaborate, but I'm the type of guy who likes to cover all his bases in a project like this.

Again, this is just my 2 cents of what I've gathered from reading a bunch of different sources. This is my first grow other than closet-type spaces. Here's a photo of my veg cab when I was in the middle of putting up Reflectix with Super 77 a few days ago. That stuff works great!

Keep me updated on your grow and feel free to bounce any other ideas off me. :tiphat:

Light proof 8" louvers installed in veg cab for intake. My first time using a sawzall. Man, I don't know how I've lived without one of these for so long!

Zip tied T5 fixtures to a grid panel for easier height adjustments and using less light hangers in veg box. Put in fan, filter and ducting.

Cutting grid panel to fit in cabinet better.

Testing for light leaks. Gorilla tape FTW!

Installing vinyl wall base to protect drywall from potential spills.

If slow and steady wins the race then I'm setting world records! Finally got around to making a door. Was gonna just do a tarp and zipper and call it a day but then decided I wanted to keep it somewhat consistent with the excellent isolation I already have going on with the walls. Never made a custom door before. This is where the sawzall really helped as I was trying to shave wood off the door itself to get a perfect snug fit with minimal gaps. Sealed off the hinge side with my best friend Gorilla Tape and it passed my OCD light leak test with flying colors! Stuffed leftover insulation into the door, sealed with 6mm vapor barrier just like the rest of the room and then used more plywood to finish the inside side. Used leftover drywall mud to seal the pieces of plywood together and then two coats of KILZ primer. Also finally finished veg cab with four Sterilite bubblers built for three plants each - will post pics of that soon. Forgot to take pics of Phresh intake filter a while ago so here that is as well.

Next up - finish flat white paint and move flower room equipment in!
